The Bermuda Triangle is an unsolved mystery that leaves many people oblivious as to how it has taken away the lives of many humans. It has been an all-time mystery why this happens. Not only have humans mysteriously disappeared but also many ships and aircrafts have disappeared. The most interesting incident was the disappearance and discovery of Flight 19. It has been told many ways, but the truth has been discovered. The lost squadron’s mission and what happened on the plane is theorized. Flight 19 (The Lost Squadron) was on a routine training. The mission was to fly 120 miles east of Bermuda. The leader reported his compass failed and the crew said this too. Jon hired a group of specialized divers and bought a ship and submarine. The submarine went to the last known location and dove 400 feet down the Atlantic Ocean. After one week of searching for the plane, a ship looking for wreckage from the spaceship Challenger, found a TBM avenger covered in barnacle and coral. The cruiser immediately called Jon and his crew to the scene. “The only problem Jon had was to lift the plane to identify it, but it was covered in coral which will be hard to lift” (Myre 210). The ship Jon bought had a 50 ton crane on board. The plan was to lift the plane 400 feet out of the ocean with the crane. After 4 hours of carefully carrying the plane, the coral on the plane severed the steel wire, sending the plane to the bottom of the ocean. The next day, Jon and his crew sent out to find the plane, and attempted to lift it up again. His mission was a success and the plane was identified as the captain’s plane. Flight 19 was not only Missing, but it was also found. Although they did not find any bodies, the mission was a success. Jon Myre has earned his fame in finding Flight 19 with hard work.
