Knowing how to take apart machinery, and put it back together exactly the way it was before, is a big part of this job. Let us say we are both industrial machinery mechanics I am your employee and I thought I fixed a front-end loader for a mine. I took it apart ran some tests on the engine I diagnosed the problem the oil filter was plugged up. I then took apart off the hood found the oil filter and I started to take it out. They test broken down machinery using computerized diagnostic programing, these particular programs designed to run various tests and find the problem in the machine. It is very important that as an industrial machinery mechanic keeps records of what they repaired, how long it took to repair the machinery, and how much the repair cost. They know how to carry on a conversation about business and talk with others to ask for help when they need it. An industrial machinery mechanic needs to know how to communicate; this is a major part of this particular job. They should know how to communicate with those whom are operating the machinery to diagnose and fix the problem. Workers need to know how to problem solve using mathematical and mechanical skills. It is very important that an employee be able to order equipment and stay within their budget. In this job, the employer has to know how to prioritize their work and be punctual while thorough in repairing the equipment. An industrial machinery mechanics typical workday will require the employee to pick up, push, pull or carry heavy objects. Employees need to be able to do physical activities for long periods without getting tired or running out of breath. Some helpful courses the employee may want to take in high school are Appliance Repair, Blueprint Reading, Drafting, Equipment Maintenance and Repair, Physical
Why I Am Majoring In Industrial Distribution I gradually became interested in Industrial Distribution throughout my education career. When I was applying for college during my senior year of high school, I was having a difficult time deciding between the majors of Business and Engineering. Therefore, I applied to Computer Engineering and was put into Blinn TEAM. Since Blinn was more cost efficient, I declined that offer and applied directly to Blinn College. I completed all of my core classes at Blinn and applied to transfer into
In conclusion, schools should provide the opportunity for students to complete an automotive repair program. Ever since mass production of the model T ford, transportation has become essential in human civilization. The evolution in mechanics since 1917, continues to progress. As society relies on and leans toward technology, auto mechanics has become an important career field. The dependence on transportation in society’s daily lives makes auto mechanics a major priority. As technology continues to progress, the need for schools to educate students on auto mechanics is essential for America to remain competitive. Students equipped with this knowledge will be more likely to succeed in their nearby futures.
Extreme temperatures, cramped positions, and dangerous places this is what a welder goes through. Is this job for just anyone? Welders just weld or solder small objects together. There are different types of welding that a person can perform. Some jobs its not stick welding its a type of welding its called soldering. As a welder you have many responsibilities, so if a person wants to become a welder they better be ready. Safety is the biggest thing in welder just remember safety is first. Welding is a career with many job possibilities . The education and training involved is an important factor in preparing to become a successful welder.
To begin with, Study.com tells that the lowest level of education required is a high school diploma or equivalent. Many employers may require an employer- based welding test. Some employers look for a certificate or undergraduate degree from a technical school (Study.com). Next, it is important to note where training is available. WATC.edu states, that they offer a welding program. WATC is located in Wichita Kansas. Their welding program allows students to gain knowledge and skills in cutting, shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, and provides some exposure to oxy-acetylene cutting and welding (WATC.edu). In addition, the length and cost of the training is an important consideration. WATC.edu shares, that there are 5 different degree and certificate options. The one I would be interested in is the Welding Technical Certificate option. This one would be a total of 46 credit hours and would cost a total of $10,524. Finally, this job requires certain traits, talents and interests. The Occupational Handbook adds, that welders often must work in awkward positions using tools, so they need to be able to put up with that. A lot of times, overtime will be present. So you would have to be available for overtime if needed. Welders are required to lift heavy objects sometimes. So a welder should be fairly strong (The OCO). I think that being a welder would be hard work. I feel that I would be able to work hard enough to be a welder. I now know what traits a person should have, in order to be a welder. In summary, there are educational and personal qualifications to consider if I want to become a
The industrial revolution was rushing on at full steam and manufactured goods were at record demands. At a time when men were needed to dig the ditches build the bridges and do heavy manual labor there was still a need for lighter more tedious and just as perilsm jobs that required a specialized worker that of a smaller stature and with nimble hands and bodies that could navigate the crouded workspace of the "modern day" factories.
Mechanical engineers must be licensed of they are to do anything that affects peoples’ lives, property, or the environment. A bachelor’s degree is minimal for most companies. A master’s degree assures a better starting salary and opportunities for advancement. High school credits should have good grades in: math, physics, chemistry, biology, drafting, computer and mechanical courses. To become a mechanical engineer you should start at a high school level when you notice curiosity of how, any why things work.
A solid foundation and understanding of welding and principles is beneficial but is not needed as on the job training is common. A high school diploma with experience is usually all that is required to get a job as a welder along with being able to pass a welding qualification test. However experience and technical/welding school instruction is a major advantage when it comes to employment. Sometimes an employer will pay for the cost of training and or certifications. Taking courses in shop mathematics, metallurgy, blueprint reading and mechanical drawing offer a welder a better understanding of the principles applied when welding and a more rounded skill set. Robotic welding and computer controlled welding machines are growing so it helps to have knowledge on programming these as this would open a huge path for any person looking into welding as a
Being employed in a field of welding can put you in a sales person position, welding engineer, inspector, or a dedicated welder. As with any job, experience and certifications are usually needed. So the salary that one makes will depend on that. On average, someone in the welding related field can make anywhere from fifty thousand to one hundred thousand dollars per year, or more. That makes out to be starting at around twenty dollars per hour up to fifty per hour. A sales representative can earn around sixty four thousand per year. Even though this is not a hands on job usually, one still needs knowledge and experience to recommend and answer questions from customers. So if that salesperson knows what they are talking about, they can make their earnings. A welding engineer can make eighty eight thousand dollars, but lots of practice and understanding of welding and the fabrication process is needed. That means multiple years of learning and being in school. So someone who comes directly into the field will not start out at that average, but with time and practice it is possible. A welding inspectors salary is around fifty eight thousand dollars. The correct testing methods are needed to check welds in the field and it makes this job difficult but a decent paying one. Now a dedicated welder's salary ra...
