Baking Persuasive Speech

American singer, Kinky Friedman, once stated, “Money can buy you a fine dog, but only love can make him wag his tail.” In the spring of 2017, my friends, Eva and Anna, and I raised over one hundred dollars to donate to Pets Inc. Animal Shelter. Despite our exhaustion, we stayed up till nearly eleven at night baking brownies, banana bread, cookies, and lemon bars to sell at Owens field the next day. That morning we set up a stand beside the soccer fields to sell our products. Luckily, the bake sale was a success and by the end of my sister’s game, we had sold almost everything. The night before my sister’s soccer tournament could have very well been one of the most stress inducing days of the month. Shortly after I arrived home from school, my friends began to arrive,

Soon, flour was flying as my mother tried to create enough space in the oven and my friends and I tried to create enough batter to fill the pans. Hours passed and the sun began to sink low in the sky; we worried that it would be too late to finish our baking. After hours of work, we came to a horrifying realization- our recipe for lemon bars was nearly impossible. Luckily, my mom came to the rescue with an old family recipe. While she threw the bars together, my baking companions and I took turns showering. Eventually, the kitchen was clean and our goodies were finished. My and friends were asleep the moment our heads touched the pillows. The morning came far too fast. Sadly for us, my sister’s game started at nine o’clock. Filled with anxiety, we left the house at eight thirty and arrived at the Owen’s Field while the grass was still covered in dew. We set up a quaint little table and hung out the posters we had made the previous afternoon. Because it was so early in the morning, business started slow. We soon realized that staying at our stand near the end of the fields was not an incredibly effective sales technique. It was with confidence that we loaded some of our baked goods into
