My dad told me it’s ok to be scared, if you are having fun it’s okay. It did not make sense at first, but, tonight was then I learned he was right.
We were at Atwood, a place to spend a night with a school. It was the end of Summer and the beginning of Fall. I’m in this crooked bed well they call us out to the dining hall. Confused I asked my friend next to me
“Hey do you know what’s going on?”
He shrugged and looked forward. We were told to sit down on the hard cold ground. It was dark out I wondered If this was just a announcement or we had to do something. They then told us “Today we are going to do Alpha wolf.”I thought it was just a classroom assignment, but what caught my attention was “ We are going to find A professional Atwood Trained wolf.” I was so surprised! Scared I did not want to do it. We went outside with my group.

After we have finished with climbing the hill, we went to what it looked like a broken down small church, with a lot of dark green on it. Are group leader said we should howl. Then just like that… “Howwwwwlllllllllll!”
Then the wolf howled again, it was like a few yards away. My heart was 2,000mph at that moment. The leader told us to stay so quiet that a dog couldn’t hear us. She told us when we got to the wolf we had to whimper and act like a dog wanting a tummy rub. So when we got to the dark area I got down and whimpered like a dog at Christmas. I hear rustling through the bushes and I hear a voice that says “ The alpha wolf has accepted you.”
It was the guy who told us about alpha wolf! He told us this place is way too small to have a life. My heart rate slowed down as fast as a car goes to 100 mph to 0 mph just like that. It was fun while it lasted and I had a ton of fun. There were a lot of excitement and scary things, but in the end, everything was okay.
Well today was a good day and It’s okay to be scared if you are having fun, it’s
It’s normal to be scared but staying positive is a major key. Rhetorical devices are used throughout “Night” to describe the emotions, feelings, situations, and faith that were being felt. The author Elie Wiesel did a fantastic job of showing that. Though times were rough Elie was always staying positive because he knew that there is always a chance for something good to happen despite how bad the situation can get and rhetorical devices were a great way of showing that.
Six thousand years ago in Northern Europe a teenager named Torak wakes up with his shoulder throbbing in pain. His father lies next to him bleeding from an open wound. The two have been attacked by an enormous demon bear, which is bound to come back at any moment. As he bleeds out, Torak’s father can only bare to say a few more words. He says that the demon bear will only grow stronger with each kill it makes, and he also tells Torak that he has to go to the Mountain of the World Spirit in order to defeat the bear. With his last few breaths he reveals that a guide will find Torak and lead him to the mountain. There is so much more that Torak wants to know, but it is too late. He hears the bear crashing through the forest and takes off in the opposite direction. After running for miles Torak stumbles upon a small wolf den that had been destroyed by a flash flood. The only wolf who survived the flood is a small wolf pup. The pup gives a small howl and instantly memories of the past begin to flow through Torak. At a very young age Torak’s mother died and his father placed him in a wolf den for three months. The wolves took him in and raised him as one of their own. While in the den Torak formed a strong bond with the wolves and learned how to communicate with them. Back at the den the pup begins to howl, and Torak joins in. The two become great friends and treat each other like brothers. The wolf calls Torak Tall Tailness and Torak calls the pup Wolf. The brothers track, hunt, and play together for many moons. Torak comes to the realization that Wolf is his guide, and together they begin to head north towards the Mountain of the World Spirit.
We’re getting close to October and all the scary movie lovers and thrill-seekers gather around and prepare to be scared. However, have we ever thought of why most of us enjoy being scared? The article, “Why Do Some Brains Enjoy Fear?” written by Allegra Ringo explores the science behind supernatural and physical thrills. The reality of something supernatural or somewhat human like but not exactly tears us apart and leaves us wanting more. Most people enjoy the possibilities of a greater form after life and death. All around the world most people are intrigued by ghosts, demons, spirits, hybrids of humans and such, monsters, and even non humans. The answer to the previous question is because of the hype of it all. When
A couple nights after Halloween, my friends and I thought it was be fun it we went to go watch a scary movie. Some of my friends didn't want to go on Halloween night because they thought it would be too scared, so we went a couple days after. I don't remember what we watched but all I remember is it said it was rated R, and I didn't even get scared of flinch once through out the whole movie. My friend were scared to death, they were hiding behind there hands, hiding behind there jackets, they were even hiding behind me. I just sat there in the movie theater, with a straight face.
My partner, Beth Lewis, told me it was my turn to physically make the rescue. I threw the ladder out and waited till we hovered over the victim. It was showtime! I jumped onto the ladder and got to about the 3rd step when I saw something out of the corner of my eye.
Beginning: One very warm evening in the hills of Seeone, Father Wolf woke up from his rest day, he scratch himself, yawned and spread out his paws to get rid of the sleepy sensation, and the mother wolf lay down on her little baby’s while the moon shone on the cave were all they lived. Aught!! Is time to hunt again said the father wolf, when he was going down the hill a shadow past with a bushy tail and said: good luck goes with you, it was the Chief of the wolfs. It was Tabiqui; all wolfs hate Tabiqui because he runs all around making mischiefs, telling tales, eating rags and pieces of leather from the village rubbish heaps. But, they were afraid of him because Tabiqui more than anyone else on the jungle is adapted to get mad but then he forgets very quickly, he runs on the forest biting everything on his way. He is so furious that even the tiger hide when he past. Enter there and look said the father wolf that was very stiffly, but there’s nothing here. For a wolf no, said Tabiqui, but for animals like me a dry bone is very good. He scuttle at the end of the cave were he found a bone with some meat. All thanks for this meal while he licks his lips said father wolf. Tabiqui still rejoicing the mischief he had made, and then he said spitefully: Shere Khan the big one has change his place to hunt, he will hunt around these mountains next night. That’s what he told me. Shere Khan was the tiger how lived near the Waingunga River that was 20 miles away. Angrily the father wolf started to say: he has no right to change of chasing places and the hour without waring, that’s a jungle rule. Now the villagers of Waingunga are mad with Share Khan. The village will run to kill him when he is far away and I and my family will need to run to an...
"Honey," my mom yelled to me one sunny afternoon, "Go out and feed Sugar." Sugar was our dog, a big, husky lap dog. I went to our kitchen, and got some food. Then I stepped outside, into the warm, fresh August air, looking for Sugar. I glanced to where I kept Sugar, and couldn't believe my eyes. Sugar was not there. I ran to the place where Sugar slept, I saw that the leash was elegantly coiled up. I knew that Sugar could not have run away. I thought that she must have chased a deer or another animal. Then a disturbing thought hit me, Sugar might have been abducted. As I tried to push that thought out of my mind, I thought that my mom could have put Sugar out in the garage. I went to the garage to check, but unfortunately Sugar wasn?t there. ?Mom,? I cried after a couple of seconds, ?Do you know where Sugar is??
and I were pretty scared because it was our first race. It was a sunny day with a little bit of wind.
Today I question my fears before I give into them. The questioning usually results in nothing that I can rely on as a concrete reason for forgoing an experience.
It was in July, and we wanted to go camping. I asked my dad if we could go up to our family's cabin in Elk Springs, which is near Montrose. He agreed, so Chase, Tyler and I, all sixteen years old, packed our stuff and were ready to go camping. With excitement, we jumped into Chase's truck, and took off to the woods.
All of a sudden in one blink my fun turned into a scare. It was the water and
Ever since I can remember I’ve wanted a dog. Never did I think that dogs would end up being by biggest fear. I was just a little kid around 6 years old when it happened. I was walking home from my friend’s house when I saw a stray dog, it was in the middle of the street blocking my way, I decided to walk past it, while I was walking it started growling at me, I hesitated but still kept trying to walk then suddenly it got up and started barking empathically towards me. I was terrified, my first initial reaction being a 6 year old kid was to scare it away, I was ignorant. I picked up a rock and threw it at the dog thinking it’ll get scared and run away. I was wrong. The dog had enough it made a whimpering noise then started barking even louder
Afterwards we went downstairs to eat breakfast and headed for our cave hike. When we reached there we started our hike by going into the cave. As we entered the cave it was so dark that we couldn’t even see where we where going. During our hike we saw many different types of rocks and tools that were made to build the cave. In the middle of the hike we found out that in order to reached the end of the cave we went in a boat inside the cave. As I sat in the boat I could feel the boat tilting on one side whenever someone would get it, and the both scary part was that I was sitting on the side of the boat. During the ride we saw many cool things in the cave. But one thing I didn’t like was getting splashed by the water. When the boat ride ended we when back to our hotel. When we got back to the hotel, sadly it was time for us to go back
The next morning me and a friend that I had met locally. Decided to go
