Strategies and Activities
Asthma attack has greatly affected the people of Oakland, especially the West Oakland residents. This has been attributed mainly to Port of Oakland activities, which has produced many emissions to the surrounding environment (Hoek et al., 2013). The strategies undertaken assume a great role in reducing these disparities. Full adoption of these activities in CAOP will ensure proper and healthy living vicinities among residents. The hope is to see all key stakeholders and other businesses joining together with residents of Oakland to make this community cleaner, safer and healthier. This will surely address all the problems hence creating a livable working environment in the whole Oakland, especially communities near …show more content…

Many disparities of asthma start at early stages among children in Oakland. For example, a report by the Health and Education Outcomes and Indicators indicated that many boys than girls were more likely to get asthma attacks at young stages of their life. This has caught the attention of schools and families to enhance proper monitoring of students, ensuring a healthy start in life so as to prepare the children for and be successful in schools. In addition, ensuring collaboration between schools and health care providers to ensure asthma medication is available at all places. This aims to increase contact and relationship between asthma-stricken persons and health cares. It also enhances awareness skills to schools and understanding of asthma. Moreover, provision of education with the aim of changing the cultural beliefs among residents. Educational awareness is the key to address situational crises by getting closer to both individuals in the society. Education helps in creating a different perception of the long-held beliefs and thus enhances a good environment to fight asthma …show more content…
