Personal Statement

I have really enjoyed art my whole life the look, the emotion, the story. I would sit on my grandma's lap and watch her draw for hours on end. She drew her favorite disney characters, trees, or whatever popped into her mind. She would sometimes let me hold the pencil as she would draw, I feel in love with that movement. I would come to do a lot of art in my future. Growing up I discovered I was a very creative person but my creativity was lost when my parents at split. I felt like I had lost everything even my self esteem at the time wasn't even there. December 2014 I rediscovered my love for art when I had got to the emergency room after cutting my leg a little too deep. After that I spend hours practicing my art skills, drawing, painting, eventually graphic design.

I have grown up drawing this little monsters I had created. I would draw one like and base my monster based of that. My best friend and I would come up with thing that would end up looking really cool. As time went on we started to make more complex things like I got into anime characters for a while it would be really amazing. But for computer science i didn't want to sit at a desk all day while as an artist I did want to ruin having it as a hobby. At the time I was thinking really in depth about what I wanted to do I was also taking Graphic Screen Printing wish I fell in love with right away. I loved learning about typography and the math behind it. Usually math is really annoying to me but the math I was learning it that class felt like it had meaning. That is when I knew that I wanted to pursue Graphic Design as a career. In Graphic Screen Printing we had to do a one color print design as well and a two color.
