Argument Essay

Have you ever felt that your homework was just to take up your time after school? Almost like the teachers want to give you irrelevant work, that doesn't help with your education whatsoever. In this essay I will tell you why I am against homework and the evidence that supports it.
To start off, homework can have very negative effects on the student that receives it. For example, the chair of educational administration for Penn state, Gerald Letendre, said that even thirty minutes of homework a night can have a very big negative effect. Including sleep disruption, stress, and bad physical effects on the body. Which is detrimental to students well being and health. Also,according to the case for and against homework marzano says that homework has a big negative effect on a families overall happiness. Including but not limited to, less time spent together, more stress with parents trying to help, and family communication. This all shows that homework has very detrimental effect on a students physical and mental health, and teachers should start contemplating whether homework is actually good.
