Have you ever read a story and it turned your opinion of the word upside down? For me that is what the story of Anne Frank did for me. Once you read the story you realize how lucky you are to be on this Earth, alive and well. You go through so many new emotions in a situation like this one. Anne Frank, her family, the Van Daans, Mr. Dussel, Mr. Kraler, and Miep Gies all had to suffer in their own ways. The household of the Annex, each and everyone of them, had to adapt to their new situation. Whether it was sitting all day, unable to move or use the washroom or starving for the was scarce. Anne, Mrs. Frank, Margot, Mr. Dussel, and the Van-Daans died in the end, and that was only part of their suffering. It causes me to react because I am missing many parts of my family, but they had a time of bonding. In a way I am envy of their chance to connect with each other, understand their hearts and thoughts. At the same I am jealous of them, I am feel bad for them especially Mr. Frank. He goes through this time where he is agony and wait for the end, and then loses his family and is stuck on earth without one. Proof of his being the only left from the Annex is on page 408. I know what it is like not to have someone in my life, but this reminds me that I am not alone in this world. I am not the only one in pain. Family is something that keeps you going, and is post to be their for you. That is something that I often saw in the Diary of Anne Frank. When Anne had her nightmare both her mother, her sister, and her father all came to comfort her. Found on pages 374-376. We also see Miep Gies give sympathy and hope to Peter, when his cat disappears. Even though they are not technically related through the bloodline, each member of the Annex (plus Miep and Mr. Kraler) had a their own relationship with each
