“Virtually 96 percent of circus animals’ lives are spent in chains or cages. Eleven months out of the year, the animals travel over long distances in box cars with no climate control; sleeping, eating, and defecating in the same cage” (Paws.org). These same animals are the ones performing for people for entertainment. This abuse is not any better in the zoos that are very popular. Animals are forced to live in small enclosures that are not optimal for the life of an animal used to roaming free. Abusing any animal, no matter how big or how small, is a crime. Animal abuse and neglect is an issue that is often overlooked in the circus, zoos, entertainment, exotic animal trade, and everyday pet life.

Teaching children that its morally ok to enslave these animals for our own amusement is unethical. Animals are not mannequins that can be put on display for all people to see. They should be out in the wild living their lives the way the were before they got forced into being an entertainment animal, exotic pet, or brought into this country illegally. There are better ways to educate the youth about animals other than looking at them through a wall being tortured on a daily basis.
Animal abuse and neglect is an issue that is often overlooked in the circus, zoos, entertainment, exotic animal trade, and everyday pet life. Most people don’t get to see the horrors that go in the background of everyday life of animals. Circus animals are beaten and forced to live in undesirable and unsanitary conditions. Zoos are torturing the animals just by having them in an enclosure that is too small. The entertainment business is slaughtering animals to make movies look more realistic. Exotic animals are being shipped in cruel manners and are often killed in transit. Finally, every day animals are being abused and neglected when they could be living in a loving home. Abusing animals for any reason is ungodly and should be abolished so no animal is ever hurt
