In every story or movie there is always a sequence of events that leads to the theme of the story. Each of these events gets more in depth of the main characters and their characteristics that makes them who they are throughout the story. In the short film, “The New Tenants” and “Six Shooter” both revolves around death and foreshadows what will happen at the end of each story. With the theme come character development and in these films, the main characters over the short periods of time over comes many deaths and all survive.

The film develops the main character Mr. Donnelly from a person who does not believe in God to a point where he looks to the ceiling calling on Jesus after killing David (name of rabbit pet). The story opens up with Mr. Donnelly talking with the doctor who contemplated the death of his wife. The doctor apart from being a serious person shows aspect of humor when he explains how the woman died. He also says how busy he is handling the woman who had been shot to her son and unexplained cot death. Doctor character is depicted as composed, sympathetic and concerned about others well-being. All the affiliates of the deaths elucidated by the doctor including Mr. Donnelly board the same train and are involved in a dialogue. Convoy, the son of the deceased woman who happens to be his mother facades an outstanding character that glues people to the screen. Convoy is illustrated as a person with no friends. Profanity also falls in his character as through the film he dialogues in foul language that upset those around him nearly ending up with a confrontation where Mr. Donnelly calms down the situation. Convoy a vexatious character facades the woman in the film who has just lost a kid to jump off the train. He believes in the existence of God, unlike Donnelly. He is hilarious in that he thinks that old lads are supposed to believe in
