What can the new generations of America do to increase creativity in schools? Expanding the minds of today’s youth will support them to invest in their own thoughts and ideas. If schools teach and support creativity, then kids will have the mentality to change the world. I think schools should require certain classes and have specific courses that can be implemented in children’s early years. STEM is a class that many schools across the country teach. The acronym represents science, technology, engineering, and math. In the past decade, careers that require experience in STEM have been in serious decline due to the lack of interest. This could be due to lack in creativity in the new generation. To increase interest in STEM, schools should implement this course in early childhood years. There doesn’t necessarily have to be a class for elementary kids students, but they should participate in activities in the classroom that are related to STEM. Schools can use new century technology in their classrooms like MakerSpace. Another possible way for schools to increase creativity is to require courses that have cultural background. I understand that there are generals that students must take. Once kids reach the point where they can choose their schedules, they should have a bundle of electives to choose from. Choosing courses that are not required and can expand people’s horizons. I think schools should eliminate study halls so that students are not flying through high school without trying to improve in certain places and learn new things. Electives should be a big part of every students career. This way they can choose what they learn and what they are interested in. They can also learn about new things and finish classes saying “I learned something new today.” Taking electives can increase creativity by teaching kids things that they never knew
