In schools all around the world, students are bringing their phones to class. Many people argue whether or not they should be allowed to carry their device on them. There are many benefits, though. They can be used for communication, organization, and in emergency scenarios. Student should be allowed to have access to their phones during school with any needed regulations from the teachers. Cell phones can be very helpful and beneficial to students and therefore, should be allowed in schools. Most of the texting done while in school are primarily for communicating with parents. ¨66% of surveyed revealed they have received text messages from their parents during school hours.” (Bonnie McCarthy, 2017). For students who participate in after-school activities, they need to inform their parents of any alterations to their schedules and their pick-up times. Also, teens are very forgetful and frequently leave books or homework at home and having a phone allows you to text your mom or dad and ask them to bring it to the school for you. If phones are banned from schools, then students would have a hard time notifying their parents of anything that change throughout the day. If something does go wrong while you are at school, you have easy access to call somebody or inform your family that you are okay. For instance, there could be a threat to your school that makes it to the news and your parents. “We reviewed 812 school threats across the country, from August 1 to December 31, 2014 – the first half of this school year.
