What is more important your life or a glass filled up with alcohol? My grandfather was an alcoholic all his life and I can honestly say that after watching what he went though alcohol it is not worth it. Every time you drink something containing alcohol, you’re putting your life at risk for many things. Drinking alcohol is dangerous and unwise because you will become an alcoholic, have health issues, and mood changes. The first thing is becoming involved at a young age. Your first sip of alcohol will lead to more and more sips every day. Eventually, you will become an alcoholic. An alcoholic craves a drink, has a loss of control, a physical dependence, and a high tolerance for alcohol. My grandfather’s childhood in a sum was drinking and smoking whatever was available. Because he was involved with alcohol every day in his life, he became an alcoholic. You would never catch him without our hometown brewed Straubs beer in one hand and a cigar in the other. Alcohol does many things to your body and none of these are good. One is making your body unaware of pain. As papa got older and drank more, the alcohol made his body feel painless. The drinks messed up his nervous system and he thought he was invincible. He had very high blood pressure and never went to the doctor to get looked at. Overtime my grandpa developed a sore on his right leg which lead into a bad infection and could not be treated. Due to the unavailability to treat his sore, the doctors amputated his leg to prevent his infection from spreading throughout his entire body. Also, he had a hernia in his groin which ended up to grow the size of a football which took his life away. A hernia is when an organ or tissue pushes its way through a weak area of a muscle. This is a life threatening situation which can happen to you because of the dangers of drinking
