My goals and aspirations after high school currently revolve around going to college and getting there myself.
One of my goals after high school is to go to a public college in New York and receive my masters degree in the field of business. Notice that I said field of business, not a specific career. I want to take advantage all of the opportunities that may come along and not restrict myself to a certain path being that I am still only in high school. Other students know what field or major they are interested in right off the bat, I on the other hand do not. I know for sure that business is where I want to go but I am afraid that if I specify anymore, I may take the wrong path. In turn, leaving me with the career that I may not want to be in for the rest of my life. My plans to go to New York for college is often looked down on. People seem to think that I am not able to make it there by myself. Their doubts motivate me to get to New York everyday. I aspire that one day I can prove all the people that doubted me on my lifelong dream wrong and show them that if there is a will there is a way. …show more content…

I have always looked at college as a path that I need to take on my own. I never wanted my parents or any of my family members to help me pay for my college. In my opinion, I am an adult, I need to take responsibility for my own decisions. If I decide that I am going to go to college in New York then I will get myself there. I am willing to work as many hours, apply for as many scholarships and grants that I need to make my dreams come true. I am no longer my parents burden that they have to pay my way for me. The schooling is for me not them. I also know that I will take every class to heart when I pay for it myself.
