Abby Lee Miller’s mom Maryen Lorrain Miller was the start of Abby’s career in the dance world. Maryen started the ALDC and once Maryen got older, Abby learned the tricks and trades of the dance world and took over the business. Abby improved the dance company into a well known dance company.
Cognitive Abilties: Problem solving a huge abiltity that Abby uses in the dance world. If one of the dancers is off in the group dance, Abby must figure out why they are off and tell the dancer how she can fix it to be in sync with the others. As Abby looks in the mirror at the group dance, she can tell if one dance will make or break the number. Abby must decide if one of the dancers must be removed from the number. She has a very loud voice that will scare you out of your shoes. When a member of the team makes a mistake during their routine, she will yell at the dance and give her the correct movement. Abby expects perfection in her dancers and if they do not give her what is she invisions for the dance she will verbally express her corrections. For example, Nia is a stiff kind of dancer. There are times where Nia needs to be graceful in her movements and Abby will scream at her until she performs the number correct or Nia will be out of a solo. Abby’s oral expression allows her to watch a routine and change up some choreography to the way she thinks will win the competition.
Reasoning Abilities: The dance moms are always causing problems with Abby and the other dance moms. When the moms get into arugments with the other moms, Abby steps in a gloats about her elite dance team and tells them their record of winnings. Another example of reasoning abilities is when Abby had enough of Kelly(Paige and Brooke) because they would leave after compeitions and Kelly would agrue with Abby.
