Greetings to you captain. I am at the hospital right now next to your beautiful mother feeling devastated. I’m writing this letter to tell you everything I have always wanted to confess to you personally. Last but not least, I also want to thank you for all the memories we have shared together, whether it is good or bad. Before I begin Gerry, I hope you have more peaceful life up there in heaven.

First of all, I would really like to apologise for all the mistakes I have illustrated towards you. When I first met you and the rest of the team, I honestly hated the fact that Black-Americans like me were not welcomed into the team. As a result of my logic of white and black Americans never uniting together, I chose to portray the same degrading behaviour back at you. On the first day of camp, I’m sorry for not wanting to sit next to you on the bus and telling you to ‘shut-up’. I also want to apologise for not going up to you first when we had to learn about each other. Our memories began from the day when we were forced to sit next to each other on the bus. We started bonding on the last days of camp when we all realised that our team would never work out. The Titans started winning every game until the finals and the teamwork just improved day by day. However, just before the finals, you were unfortunately involved in a car crash. I was giving myself a hard time because everything was my fault. When I entered the door where you were in, thank you for accepting me as your brother, it meant a lot to me. As I am writing this, I am feeling so overwhelmed with all the beautiful memories we have shared. You were the biggest reason why I changed my perspectives of the world and if it wasn’t for you, I would not be who I am
