On September 11, 2001, America had an attack. Many people were afraid and made accusations that weren’t true. This didn’t help matters at all, but fear does strange things to people.
The terrorist attack now referred to as 9/11 struck fear into many peoples hearts and minds. The terrorist group Al Qaeda (pronounced Al Kieda) led by Osama Bin Laden was behind these attacks.They hijacked 4 different planes all with a certain destination. 2 of the planes crashed into the Twin Towers while the other plane crashed into the pentagon. The destination of the 4th plane is not clear because the passengers fought back against the Al Qaeda hijackers, sacrificing their lives to save others. Many people died that day and it will remembered for a long time. …show more content…

Some countries saw this as a defeat of the U.S, which gave them a reason to celebrate. The U.S was believed to be invincible, this proved that we weren’t. Palistan saw it as an indirect defeat of Israel. Others mourned the loss America had just experienced and some even made memorials for the citizens that passed away.There was an interview with “a Turkish muslim cleric who was condemning Al-Qaeda, saying that what they did had no place in Islam.” Others felt this way too. On the front of a french newspaper, the headline was “Nous sommes tous américains” (“We are all american”). Most countries were simply afraid that this would lead to a war, maybe a world wide one.
