Introduction On September 11, 2001 the World Trade Center buildings one and two were attacked. However, who we were attacked by and even if we were attacked is a hard decision to make. There have been many different claims about how everything on that fateful day happened. There are facts that we know are true, though; Flight 11 flew into the North Tower at eight forty- six in the morning. Soon after, Flight 175 attacked the South Tower. By the end of the day, both towers had collapsed and other hijacked flights had caused damage. The amount of lives lost on September 11 was substantial; 2,749 people from eighty-three different countries died from the attacks (Facts about the attacks…, n.d.). All in all, America was changed forever. Research Many conspiracy theories have been developed concerning what happened to the World Trade Centers on September 11, 2001, but there are a select few that, similar to the truth, cannot be disproved without quite a bit of effort. One theory is that the Twin Towers were destroyed by controlled demolitions. Another idea of what happened is that planes did hit the towers, but they were remote controlled. A third theory is that Al Qaeda is not responsible for the 9-11 attacks (The Top September 11 Conspiracy Theories, n.d.). And last, but certainly not least, is the theory that the 9-11 attacks were a false flag operation. When considering these theories, there are many different controversial areas that should be assessed to differentiate between fact and opinion. In researching this and many other conspiracy theories, one can see many uses of sensationalism, mainly by the media. This media- the news (local and national), magazines, tabloids, television shows, movies, and so on- has a huge e... ... middle of paper ... ...chives.cnn.com/2001/CAREER/trends/09/11/witnesses/ Debunking the 9/11 Myths: Special Report - The Planes - Popularmechanics.com. On September 11, 2001, the Islamic extremist group, al-Qaeda hijacked four american airlines. “Two of the airlines crashed into the world trade center in New York The third plane crashed into the Pentagon outside the world trade center, and the fourth plane crashed into a field in Pennsylvania” (9/11 Attacks). They called it a suicide attack against United States, but there are conspiracy theories the the terrorist are still alive. That they stole
There were several conspiracies about the planes that attacked the Twin Towers. One of the planes left Boston's Logan Airport at 7:59 a.m. The hijackers zoomed the plane into the North Tower of the World Trade Center at 8:46 a.m. The other plane left Logan Airport at 8:14 a.m. The hijackers flew the plane into the South Tower of the World Trade Center at 9:03 a.m. America had stated that 10 planes were suppose to be hijacked on that day. “Providing new details on the planning of the plot, the commission staff said that al-Qaida planner Khalid Shaihk Mohammed initially proposed a Sept. 11 attack involving 10 planes that would be used to attack CIA and FBI headquarters, unidentified nuclear plants and tall buildings in California and Washington state,” (Brunker). Both planes that flew into the Twin Towers were Boeing 767. The plane was 159 feet long. Another thing that seemed odd was that 9,700 gallons when it should usually have nothing less than 14,000 gallons. The engine was found on Murray Street when it should have been right around the Tower. Things were said about the plane being like a missile since the engine was dropped so far from the Towers. According to German TV footage, the planes front nozzle was caught on fire before going through the building. Conspiracy theories state that there were three things attached to the plan that were likely to explode. After the plane went into the building the plan some how exploded making it look like a missile went into the building or some how it was some sort of bomb. The Federal Emergency Management Agency, FEMA, drew out the plane and the way the plane was flown into the Towers and it did not seem right. The plane propellers of the Boeing 757 were smaller than the hole it actuall...
Conspiracy theories are entertaining for many to speculate and demand a great deal of thought to constitute. A conspiracy theory is defined as the idea that many important political, economic, and social trends are the products of secret plots that are largely unknown to the general public (“The Definition of Conspiracy Theory”). Many conspiracy theories are thought up around children’s shows, which offers a feeling of nostalgia and pleasure. A few children’s show conspiracies that need a deeper light shone on them are from Max & Ruby (2002-2013), Winnie the Pooh (1977), Rugrats (1990-2004), and All Grown Up (2003-2008).

Conspiracy theories accuse others of a cover-up by secret planning. They may be based on a hunch, or even backed by evidence. To the curious mind, they bring about unanswered questions that have attracted the attention of many people throughout history. Among some of the more popular theories are the assassination of President John F. Kennedy; the death of Princess Diana; alien encounters in Roswell, New Mexico; and the idea that Elvis may still be alive. Perhaps the most intriguing theory, because of our neighboring location, is the underground bunker and seemingly strange characteristics at the Denver airport.
September 11, 2001 was a day that Americans and the world for that matter will not soon forget. When two planes went into the twin towers of the World Trade Center and two others went into the Pentagon and a small town in Pennsylvania, the world was rocked. Everyone in the United States felt very vulnerable and unsafe from attacks that might follow. As a result, confidence in the CIA, FBI, and the airlines were shaken. People were scared to fly after what had happened.
Such as, did inside traders know about attacks before the event even occurred, Why did the world's most powerful air force fail to intercept any of the four hijacked planes, Why did the Twin Towers collapse so quickly and a good question is why was the crash site at Shanksville, Pennsylvania so small and why was the aircraft debris not visible. Many of these conspiracies got most of the world thinking about the tragic event that occurred on september 11, 2001 and if it was an event that was made up by the government to set up the terrorist and their

9/11 was not pulled off by Osama Bin Ladin and his network of terrorist with box cutters orchestrated from a cave in Afghanistan (Loose Change 9/11). It was by a group of powerful people bent on seizing more power in the American government. I encourage any rational and logical person to look into this on their own. They will see the facts for their own, and come to their own conclusions.
9/11 was a sad and tragic day for the U.S. Nation. Many people watch in terror as the towers were falling in New York. Not knowing what had happened or why. On this horrifying day people began to question what really happened and what is the government not telling us. There are many conspiracy theories that people say happened on that day like the steel not getting hot enough to melt for the towers to collapse. People say that the the planes that crashed into the building could not have caused as much widespread damage that they caused. People saying there is no way people could have made calls from the airplane from the height of the plane. Many people also said that Bush knew that 9/11 was going to happen.
The acceptance of the 9/11 Truther Movement can be explained by events or ideas from the late 20th century. Postmodernist culture, the immediacy of movies and television, the mistrust of the government following the Watergate scandal, as well as the need for comfort in an age of uncertainty, gave rise to the influx of conspiracy belief in politics and the media in the late 20th century, thus preparing Americans to believe that the attacks in September of 2001 were an inside job, perpetrated by none other than President Bush himself. 17 years have passed since the 9/11 attacks, yet Truthers still try to persuade others that 9/11 was a conspiracy. While some conspiracy theories interfere with the rebuilding period following the supposed conspiracy,

Are we being watched? Was the moon landing staged? Is there a secret society of people training a select group of individuals for a restructure in government? Conspiracy theories have reigned supreme in our society for years. From Jesus having a family, to the assassination of President Kennedy, conspiracy theories have been handed down through the generations. There are books, movies and literature that all take on opposing views. According to Webster, a Conspiracy is “an agreement between two or more persons, to commit some crime in concert; particularly a combination to commit treason, or excite sedition or insurrection against the government of a state; a plot” (“Conspiracy.” An American Dictionary of the English Language; exhibiting the origin, orthography, and pronunciations of words. Noah Webster LL.D) My question: Which is “fact”? Which is “theory”? Whether you believe them or not, some stores will raise some thought provoking questions.
September 11, 2001, nineteen men hijacked four fuel-loaded US commercial airplanes bound for west coast destinations. 2,996 people were killed. Less than a month after, U.S. troops invaded Afghanistan in an attempt to dismantle, al-Qaeda. Two years later, the United States invaded Iraq and deposed of President Saddam Hussein. Our military involvement in Afghanistan turned into the longest-running war in U.S. history. With all these costs, many questions followed. Before any forensic proof, the term “Arab Terrorists” was applied throughout the news as those at fault. Soon, people started asking for more information. People wanted to know why independent inquiry was being block, who was blocking it, and why it was being blocked. All evidence at the scenes was removed and destroyed. These question still haven’t been answered. So, conspiracy theories arose.
