The nation has had many events that have caused the world to stand still, or so to speak, but nothing has rocked our nation more than 9/11. 9/11 changed our nation and still to this day continues to make people cautious. When an event causes as much destruction, pain, and chaos as 9/11. How did the planning stages of this attack get overlooked? It is still a question as to whether or not this big attack could have been prevented. Prior to 9/11, the leader of first presented the idea for the September 11 plot to the disastrous time in 1996 in Afghanistan. What was the reasoning behind the plan? Mohammed stated that the Americans were too close to Mecca which he considered a provocation to the entire Muslim world. Mohammed also stated that he believed that Israel has been killing and also punishing Palestinians with American money and guns during this time. This enraged Mohammed and therefore, the 9/11 plan was formed to go down. (howstuffworks.com) However, when the plan originated in 1996, nothing became of the plan; it was all just talk at the time to help ease the anger which Mohammed felt. According to the September 11 Commission, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed envisioned a hijacking of twelve planes on both the East and West coasts, and for eleven of them to be crashed into the World Trade Center and the Empire State Building in New York City; the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia; the Prudential Tower in Boston, Massachusetts; the White House and the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C; the Willis Tower (then Sears Tower) in Chicago, Illinois; the U.S. Bank Tower in Los Angeles, California; the Transamerica Pyramid in San Francisco, California; and the Columbia Center in Seattle, Washington (howstuffworks.com). However, ... ... middle of paper ... ...the consequences were going to be. May we never forget about the heartache of the attack and may we always be able to pull together as a nation and help anyone in need. Forgotten history is bound to repeat itself so, although we may seem to have forgotten, we are continually doing whatever we can to prevent this or anything like it from happening again. In closing, I believe the United States is able to, in the end, put its differences aside and pull together to be united always. Work cited LLC, Division Drays. "HowStuffWorks." HowStuffWorks. On the morning of September 11/2001, 19 terrorist working for the Al Qaeda terrorist organization hijacked four commercial planes. They attempted to fly them into multiple U.S targets. One of the planes, American Airlines, flight 11, crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center at 8:50 a.m. Another plane, United Airlines, flight 175, crashed into the south tower at 9:04 a.m. These tragedies took the lives of nearly 3000 people and affected the lives of millions.

Pentagon in Washington D.C., the attitude and policies of both the American people and the U.S. government changed. Fear crept out from every corner on the street, and hatred and discrimination ambled out of every store or gas station that was run predominantly by citizens of Middle Eastern descent. In response, President Bush told the American people "We will never forget," meaning the people responsible for the attacks would be found, and payback would be ensured. However, instead of hunting down Osama bin Laden (the leader of the terrorist group al-Qaeda) or Mohammed Atta (mastermind behind the 9/11 events), the U.S. decided to hunt Saddam Hussein.
The worst terrorist attack in U.S history occurred on September 11, 2001. According to U.S government officials, nineteen men hijacked four fuel-loaded commercial planes with the intent to destroy the World Trade Center in New York City, as well as both the Pentagon and the White House in Washington D.C. The attacks began at 8:46am ET when American Airline’s Flight 11 struck the North tower of the World Trade Center, causing chaos on the streets below. Not even twenty minutes later, another commercial plane, United Airlines Flight 175, struck the south tower. Americans and people all over the world watched helplessly as the action on the East Coast unfolded. Any American old enough to remember can most likely tell you exactly where he or she was at the moment of the attacks. Whether we watched the terror in New York City on a television screen or experienced it first-hand, the sight of the initial impact of the planes on the World Trade Center, of bodies falling from the highest floors of the towers, and of chaos on the streets is truly unforgettable. Following the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, a third plane, American Airline’s Flight 77, hit the side of the Pentagon building in Washington D.C. Citizens of Washington were shocked, knowing that the terror unfolding in New York was not the only matter of worry. While our nation’s capital dealt with a crisis in its own city, the trouble in New York City was still at large. At 9:59am ET, the south tower of the World Trade Center collapsed, creating a cloud of debris large enough to cover the entire city. The north tower followed suite around thirty minutes later, but before that, it was reported that a fourth plane, United Airlines Flight 93, had crashed in a fie...
When the tragedy that 9/11 was happened, Americans came together as a country, and as a whole, to overcome the catastrophe. Over 3,000 people died either
The September 11, 2001 attacks had been planned since the mid to late 1900s just after World War Two. The events that led up to September 11, 2001 ended in tragedy. On September 11, 2001, two planes crashed into the North and South World Trade Center Towers in New York City. Flight 175,an American Airlines plane was hijacked that morning and crashed into the North tower. Only a short time later after the first attack, another American Airlines plane Flight 11 was crashed into the South tower. That same day another plane Flight 77 crashed into the West side of the Pentagon in Washington, DC. Earlier that day Flight 93 was hijacked and headed for the White House, but the passengers on board the plane took over and crashed the plane near a town called Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The terrorist plots on September 11, 2001 became the most significant attack on American soil to date.
Before explaining what I and one third of Americans believe in what happened on September 11, 2001, I want to clarify the idea of why our own government would purposely perpetrate these attacks on our own people (Rethink9/11.org). When this topic is brought up, people wonder why their government would purposely attack them. Ever since the start of this country, wars have always started with a false flag operation. Basically, a false flag operation is when a group of people like a government carries out a secret operation to deceive the public and make them believe that the operation was carried out by a common enemy, while they act as if they were the victims. This may sound crazy, but there are endless amounts of declassified
At 8:46 a.m., the United States witnessed the first terroristic attack of many to come when American Airlines flight 11 crashed into the World Trade Center’s North Tower in New York City. Flight 11 impacted the tower between floors 93 and 99 ...

The World Trade Center bombing triggered a response from the American government, but that response did not do enough to prevent future attacks against American targets. On February 26, 1993, at 18 minutes past noon, an explosion ripped through the underground parking garage of the Trade Center complex. The bombers rented a van, filled it with explosives and gasoline, and set the fuse,...
Many people can tell you where they were exactly when the terrorist attacks on the twin towers occurred. For many, this hit close to home. September 11, 2001 was the biggest attack on our country since the attack on Pearl Harbor. The country was forever changed after September 11th. There are many legacies that have lasted after the attack, one important one including homeland security. The way America dealt with the aftermath of the attacks still has a tremendous impact on the United States to this day. September 11th changed things that seem like normal things today. Air travel has changed, the department of homeland security was implemented, all due to the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
Everyone old enough to learn has been informed of the horrific attacks on the U.S. on September 11th, 2001. The American public was told that these attacks had been coordinated by Al-qaeda leader, Osama Bin Laden. A surprising percentage of the American people believe this is not the case and the theories range from very believable to impossible. Otherwise these theories are created through doubt, fear, and unanswered questions.
On September 11th, 2000, America was changed forever, with repercussions still being felt today, due to a domestic terrorist attack by the terrorist group al-Qaeda, led by Osama bin Laden, which targeted historic locations in the U.S through airline hijackings and suicide attacks, which was done by 19 terrorists. The terrorists had crashed planes in the Twin Towers, The Pentagon, and a failed attempt which resulted in a crashed ¬plane in Pennsylvania. Over 2,996 people had died in total during these terrible attacks. The incident occurred when the first plane, American Airlines Flight 11, was hijacked by terrorists and was crashed into the North Tower at 8:48 a.m. The public was in shock, terrified by the sudden destruction early that morning.
Many conspiracy theories have been developed concerning what happened to the World Trade Centers on September 11, 2001, but there are a select few that, similar to the truth, cannot be disproved without quite a bit of effort. One theory is that the Twin Towers were destroyed by controlled demolitions. Another idea of what happened is that planes did hit the towers, but they were remote controlled. A third theory is that Al Qaeda is not responsible for the 9-11 attacks (The Top September 11 Conspiracy Theories, n.d.). And last, but certainly not least, is the theory that the 9-11 attacks were a false flag operation. When considering these theories, there are many different controversial areas that should be assessed to differentiate between fact and opinion.
The first attack was at 8:46 AM ET on the north tower of the World Trade Center. The tower was struck by American Airlines Flight 11 which was in flight to Los Angeles. There were five hijackers aboard Flight 11. The five hijackers aboard Flight 11 were Al Sugami, Safam M. A., Alomari, Abdulaziz, Alshehri, Wail M., Alshehri, Waleed M., and Atta, Mohamed.
