The Controversy of the Proposed 4-Point Line in NBA

BANG, Stephen Curry hits the shot from way downtown, around 30 feet! That would be 4-point shot if the NBA makes an idea real. If they actually made this “4-point line” it would be unfair, a bad habit, and a distraction from the game of basketball. Personally, I think it’s a bad idea. I can make 30 foot shots but I wouldn’t like that kind of shot to give me an extra point. Even if it helps me win games or proves that I’m a good shooter. I have plenty of reasons.

If the 4-point line is established, teams like the Philadelphia 76ers and the Chicago Bulls will not win as many games as they have been right now because they can't really shoot like other teams in the NBA. Teams like the Golden State Warriors will start shooting tons of 4-pointers and making them because they are a great long range shooting team. It would be kind of unfair to the Bulls or the 76ers when the play long range shooting teams like the Warriors.The Warriors will shoot 4-pointers and the Bulls might only get a couple 3-pointers and layups. Shooting from further out leads to worse shots. Field goal percentages will go down because of the bad shots kids are taking. It's just a bad habit to to shoot from that far. That's what the 4-point line can do, trick you into thinking it's better because it's worth more. If you shoot 10 4-pointers you will probably make 3, so 12 points.
