Recommended: How are schools preventing bullying

In the world today bullying is a huge psychological problem. There is a vast number of suicides that involve bullying as the cause. Bullying causes feelings of hurt, discomfort and pain. It is a serious issue that is faced by many people, and can leave a child or adult to live in complete fear. “For instance a 12-year-old boy hanged himself after two years of bullying” (Newser 2014). In more serious cases, bullying has drawn a high case of suicides. According to World Press 2013 estimated that 160,000 children in the US missed school every day due to fear of attack or intimidation by their peers. Some say that Bullying can cause long-term and short- term psychological impacts / effects on anyone.
Schools in today’s society harbor approximately 2.1 million bullies and astonishingly 2.7 million of their victims, 1 in 7 students in Grades K-12 is either a bully or a victim of bullying. Bullying can cause long-term and short- term psychological impacts / effects on someone. It usually starts at the early stages of life. Bullying can result from being raised by an aggressive tiger mom or even an attached mom.
The long term effects of bullying take time to settle in to a person. Short-term effects are emotions such as depression or rages of anger. According to Cafe Mom .com the mother of a teen was accused of bullying a girl until she committed suicide. She was arrested and charged with child abuse case, many believe that violence is the leading cause of bullying in children from parents or peers. This shows that bullying cannot be stopped because it still leads to the victims and perpetrators of bullying or cyber bulling. This means that step parents should step forward and educate themselves about this issue weather it is at home or in school
Bullying will forever plague schools all over the world and it is vital to know ways in which parents and schools can work together in order to lessen the problem of bullying that it has on society, and keep the children safe and happy. A higher quality of life for students where they can focus on their academics at school rather than on bullies will provide them with less stressful lives and prevent many of the problems, such as depression and suicide, which can oftentimes be linked to childhood violence.
