Wachovia corporate made right adjustments in their work; they reduce both cost of the production and time of the operation. As Tony Bishop says “Competitive advantage comes from your math, your workflow and your processes through your systems. Straight-through processing is the utopian challenge for Wall Street firms.” The first phase in the project, was preparing a matrix that cross-referenced for every major function, such as research, risk management, clearing, trading, payment, settlement, reporting, and selling for each major in the product.
Then, the project team examined each cell in the existing systems. Where they can build components and services, standardized frameworks that allows us to, instead of building four different times, build it once and provide it into one mutual sales platform, one common trading platform and so on. They simplified the parts they were using for faster connectivity which means from one system to another, and made a very different and easy channel of network to all the aspects of organization that comes from research to reporting. The speed was the main purpose. The only thing they have made from faster technological was making the design process exact and perfect neglecting other business prospects of information technology, which increase the cost to some degree. There is a life cycle for technological innovation which there is nothing on it. This thinking was temporary and simply imitable which might cost more in future. The positive feature of using co relation of servers with the exchanges is to speed considering with this service and reliability the availability. These facilitate in networking are sustainable advantage.
