Community service?
(What community service would you do)
All throughout the world there is community service, and some have to do it because they broke the law. Others do it because they feel like helping out the community and want nothing in return. Mostly the people who have to do community service are people who break the law, and to pay back the community for their crime they have to do community service. Now they are making it a requirement for high schoolers to do some sort of community service to graduate. In truth it 's a good thing but it is also a bad thing for most of us. Some of us have lives and jobs ah ms don 't have time for community service, but they are making it a requirement to do community service and if I had to

In truth if you do hard nasty gross jobs and obviously learned something from it, more people will hire you because of the community work that you did. Depending on how much and how long you were working for community service, depends on if the college and the job will really want you. They will be very interested in you and probably have you do things that would look great on your resume and make you a better life plan then you originally have or want. Highway clean up is something that is required by my standards to not just make our community and our forests clean, but to make our planet clean. If we put ourselves together and make our community better and clean then we can save our world and make the air and ground cleaner to breathe and walk on. This is how it should be and this is the second reason I want to do highway cleanup to have it look better on my resume for college and jobs and hopefully be worth something to …show more content…
It would look really great on my resume because it shows I would do the nasty things and that I am a hard worker. I want to keep the highway clean and nice looking and keep the planet and states clean of garbage. It would be the worst of the worst and show that I 'm not afraid of getting dirty and nasty. All in all the things that we are doing and having community service is a great thing, but I really don’t exactly like the fact that it may be a requirement to graduate high school. That 's not really cool, but at least it would show that you are giving back to the community that you live in. In truth I thought jury duty was enough, now we actually have to do more for the
If students want to learn more about their field, they should feel inclined to actually do the work on their own. Also, if a school makes each student complete at least 24 hours of community service to graduate, every student in the school will graduate with the exact same amount, which means hundreds of students are going to the workforce with no advantage over the other.
If schools wanted to encourage community service then they shouldn’t force students to do it. Schools should let students know about volunteering opportunities and possibly let them sign up for the school so that it is easier for them to do so if they want
Imagine a typical teen, they have a job, homework, sports, and other extracurriculars. They don’t get home till late at night and they are exhausted. This teen can take much more and thankfully they are about to graduate, but wait the school wants them to fit in one hundred of community service into that schedule in order to graduate. How on earth is this busey teen suppose to do that with all that they have going on? Students should not have to do one hundred hours of community service to graduate high school.
Community Service is a great opportunity to make a difference in the area you live in. There are so many ways to volunteer. Some people are given chances to do community service when they need to pay off fines for tickets. Most people simply do because they love getting involved. It’s their way of making the community a cleaner, healthier place.
Over the years I have been very involved in my community and school. Being a part of something helps to define who you are as a person and the principles and values you hold as important. A personal experience that helps to show my talents and skills can be illustrated by my trip to Italy last April with the MHS Language Department.
I have always considered myself a very promising student. I have worked extremely hard and received high grades. I have a close knit group of friends and my teachers and I have mutual respect for each other .Although I would consider myself at this present stage ‘fulfilled’ something was missing. I realized it wasn’t a materialistic aspect of my life. Through a tragic incident I finally discovered what fit perfectly in that vacancy. The consecutive hospitalizations of my grandparents evoked great pain and sorrow. However, out of the scorching intensity of this tragedy I was warmed and comforted by realizing what I was devoid of: community service.
...h to work with children in elementary level classroom; I helped them to be prepared for a special dancing and singing mixed event in the other side of a church. I enjoyed working in the classroom at this church, but I never thought to become a clergy, a priest or a religion-related worker because I am not really religious person. In the mean time, this community service did not help me to choose a career and explore skills and interests. However, some people would feel do not want to volunteer because they do not see what is the point of it when it has nothing to do with their plans. I concede a community service for a career exploration, but this should not be a requirement for graduation because it is unfair to people who have career plans.
More than two decades ago, President Nixon ended the military draft. Now a new and more menacing form of enlistment is threatening our school systems. This enlistment I am speaking of is that we are forcing "community service" to be a requirement for high school graduation.
High school prepares students for the job or career they wish to have when the graduate, and many students set a goal or plan. For instance, attending college and university, or whatever other job they hope to have, but many careers take years to accomplish some even 10 years, so many students like to start immediately after they graduate so that they don’t finish college when they are 30. For this reason, having the obligation of attending the military or volunteer services would hurt the plan of those students that wish big things in their future. Some americans believe that with one year of civil service there is a possibility that many high school graduates will choose to enter the military which would result in more soldiers in the U.S military and would benefit our country. On the contrary, the U.S already has enough people in the military there are close to 1.4 million people serving in the U.S. armed forces.
For my 5 service hours I served at the Trunk or Treat. I thought I learned about about myself and the ones I worked for and I think that you would enjoy this activity as much as I did. For my service hours this year I worked at the Trunk or Treat for Halloween at the Water of life in Upland. I assisted by set up the booths and helped pass out candy to the people that walked by.
Community service is something that you do out of the goodness of your heart to help the community and those around you. There are many things you could do for community service such as: volunteer at nonprofit organizations, mentor those that need help, pick up litter, and anything that will benefit the community in some way. Something that has been happening across the states is that schools are incorporating community service into the graduation requirements. Although some may say that this isn't something that should be required, i believe that it would be good for every student to experience. It could teach your student hard word, kindness, and it would be a humbling experience. Community service is doing something
High school students should be required to partake in community service to fulfill graduation requirements. There remains an ongoing debate on whether or not to include mandatory community service in high schools across America. A plethora of schools require a predetermined amount of community service hours students should procure before graduation ("Debate Over Making Community Service Mandatory in High Schools"). A copious number of high school students seem to think completing the service hours will become an arduous and formidable task because they are unaware of where to begin their search. Oftentimes, teens might not need to look any farther than the local businesses and shelters in their own towns ("Should Students Be Required to
Community Service is important for many reasons. Taking part and volunteering teaches compassion and understanding. One of my favorite things about community service is that there are opportunities and choices right in your very neighborhood. You can volunteer for something you really believe and have an interest in, and can volunteer as much or as little as you'd like or have time for. Growing up with a very kind-hearted family, I've come to learn and understand the importance of community service.
Though, the concept of community service is not very new its importance has developed in the past few years. There are thousands of organizations all over the world that engage and hold millions of young people all through the world. People of all age groups, with a maximum number of youth are involved in the process of community service. Community-based organizations include; social service organizations, non-profit providers and associations that engage both young people as well adults as volunteers. The process is beneficial both for the individuals as well as the society. Without community service people would not know the meaning of charity and giving back. Community service can be defined as a service that is performed for the benefit of the public. Community service is not a responsibly or an obligation; it is a commitment. A person must want to do it with good intentions and not because they are being forced to do so. Basically, community service is a way for a person to give back to a community in which they live.
Community Service: The Benefits. Volunteering: A great experience no one can afford to lose. Opposers say, mandatory community service can have several negative effects on students. “Community service hours are impressive additions to college applications and can provide a student with a great sense of accomplishment; however, the mandatory hours will have many negative consequences” (Cydney Hayes, 2012).
