Bullying is hard to pin point exactly why it starts and for what reason. It can be as something small or big in which the person is not able to understand why it’s happening to them. Psychological, personal and professional destruction is happening to the person and they don’t understand why. It was good at first but things started to go south once the agency was receive multiple cases. The agency was under a lot of pressure on being able to approved and look over cases in a fast pace matter. This situation was putting stress on everyone and felt rushed when doing their job. Deborah started feeling under pressure and felt she wasn’t giving her all as she did in the past. Deborah started feeling disrespected by her supervisor as she felt that he will only scream at her instead of the rest of the employees. She did not understood why this was happening to her.
Deborah started feeling worse as it was happening more often than before. She couldn’t believe that she was getting bullied by her own supervisor. She let the time pass and thought that her supervisor might be having a bad day. The day turn into days and then into weeks. The bullying started from a simple look from her supervisor and started escalating from that point on. Deborah at first though the reason for her supervisor being upset with her was the lack of not being fast

It pertains specifically to my experiences and observations of a staff member who feels the need to demoralize and abuse her co-workers and patients. The theory background is based on a research conducted by Djurkovic, McCormack, & Casimir (2005), which related workplace bullying and victims' reactions, divided in three possible categories: assertiveness, avoidance, and seeking formal help. According to the results of this research, the avoidance reaction was the most common revealed (p. 451). Also Ayoko, Callan & Härtel (2003) related bullying and conflict events in the workplace as well as interpersonal relationship problems, their intensity, frequency and duration in the organizational environment. The outcomes of this research were also analyzed by showing that bullying can promote counterproductive behaviors as consequence of “frustration, aggression and humiliation” (p. 285). Another study that supports that idea was written by Vega & Comer (2005) which suggests that “most frequently victims of bullying are unassertive, conflict avoidant, and make little effort to be part of the group” (p. 106).
The workplace bullying can be defined as inappropriate interpersonal behaviors that workers are subjected to by virtue of their employment. That includes such things as persistent and unjustified criticism, constant scrutiny of work or unfair allegations of incompetence insubordination or ongoing criticism threats or behavior towards a person that intimidate humiliate and undermine their capacity to do their work. The consequence of bullying is that it undermines the dignity and self-worth of individuals who become less productive may suffer trauma-related illnesses then loss of productive time. Beside that, type of aggression is particularly difficult because, unlike the typical forms of school bullying, workplace bullies often operate within the established rules and policies of their organization and their society. Bullying in the workplace is in the majority of cases reported as having been perpetrated by someone in authority over the target. However, bullies can also be peers, and on occasion can be subordinates. The bullying can be covert or overt. It may be missed by superiors or known by many throughout the organization. Negative effects are not limited to the targeted individuals, and may lead to a decline in employee morale and a change in company culture.

When people began to identify bullying for what it is, it was only known as a physical aggression towards others, but over the course of time, bullying has moved from just physical bullying to verbal bullying, and power abuse in the workplace between co-workers in different ranks. Bullying against teens is still happening even though there are various awareness programs to try to prevent it. I want to create awareness of bullying against teens of all religions, race, and sexual orientation. Even with the various attention to bullying, the problem still persists despite the school providing awareness, students are still afraid to say anything. Societal patterns today make bullying a difficult issue to eliminate. Starting in 2007, a total of 35 states made laws to go against bullying at school. These laws consisted of a clear definition of bullying, and how schools will be required to enforce uniform standards of conduct. The reason bullying comes as such an issue to me is because I actually know friends that have been suicidal and have caused themselves harm due to being bullied every day, in school and at home.
Problems usually have solutions. Solutions could be extremely easy to find, or the process of finding one could be problematic. One worldly issue that does not have a solution yet is bullying. Bullying is present in schools world-wide, and it has been this way since there have been schools. This horrible act is accepted as part of life. People are used to bullying, that it almost seems normal. This should not be the case. Bullying is a horrific act that needs to be stopped, but is that possible? Three specific ways people have proposed to stop bullying is to criminalize bully in an attempt to deter any further bullying, to assign bullies student mentors in order to have someone guide them, or to force school or parental figures to be more active in trying to prevent bullying. Each of these methods has its advantages and disadvantages, but which is the best method to effectively stop bullying?

Bullying has become a serious problem in public schools systems. Being a victim of bullying is a daily struggle for some students. The issue continues to grow, but the question is how to stop bullying from occurring. Many ways have been attempted to stop bullying, but some are more effective than others.
