In The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon wrote this book from a point of view many people don’t hear or see from. This book was by far my favorite one because of its push to make you think deeply. Christopher’s autism shows things in a different light which is needed because if you never see from other views you can’t truly grow as a person. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time makes people think on struggles and problems that people often don’t like to truly dig in on. If you look into other people’s views of the world and how they process things it brings in new elements into your life. Christopher’s voice is on many don’t focus on or ignore because they believe if it doesn’t have to do with them
If we all thought the same and never cared to see from others aspect then we would never grow or change in our society and lives. Whether it’s Christopher, Huck Finn, Maya Angelou, or Sandra Cisneros everything voice and prospect is needed because these are the beginnings of changing how people see the world and where people come from. These aspects can change the world around us for without them we are caught on snares in a never ending cycle of old. Christopher’s voice was the most interesting to myself because even with what believe and are taught he challenges stereotypes of people with autism aren’t capable of understanding and being strong in their ways which is absolutely
He did this because society, the world needs to see the different outlooks on life. We get to comfortable ignore others problems and pictures of lives when it doesn’t affect us. This fact needs to be changed if we want to make the world a better, safer place for every person today and to come. Every single voice should be heard and acknowledged even if people disagree or consider it wrong. I learned a lesson from every book we read this year whether big or small. The biggest lesson I learned in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time was to stay focused on things important to myself, look into things and challenge people’s ways of thinking. This is a syndrome that enables him to see the world only through his limited perspective, which is closed, frightened and disorientated - which results in his fear of, and inability to understand the perplexing world of people's emotions. His description of events can be somewhat unreliable as he is unable to see the real truths that lie before him. As he narrates, readers are confronted with his peculiarities - whether it is not liking to be touched, his fear of germs, strangers and crowds to his inability to eat foods with particular colors. However, through Christopher's authorial voice, his description of events in his life, and in particular, his description of his oddities those seem completely 'normal' to him, make him an interesting and fascinating narrator. As he can be proven to be an unreliable narrator as he is incapable of lying (and understanding lies) and this limits his ability to perceive the full reality of the world, thus providing him with a strange combination of credibility and unbelievability.
