Al Gore's Credible Argument on Global Warming

Our world faces many issues consisting of political issues, economic crisis, poverty, world wars, and environmental issues for example. Global warming is one of the many environment issues that many pay little attention to. Mr. Al Gore in his documentary directed by David Guggenheim brings to light this climate crisis and how affective it can be to the earth and how we must address it as soon as possible as it may lead to the destruction of our world’s environment. His presentation in the documentary was all but dull. He has his audience’s attention and uses graphs, pictures, and actual statistics to support his research. One of the several charts Al Gore uses in his presentation is well presented and accurately depicts the effect of this climate crisis. Carbon Dioxide is at its highest peak as of now according to the chart Al Gore presents and he emphasizes the increased rate by using a mechanical lift that elevates him to the peak of the Co2 level on the chart. This leaves the audience in shock and as a result it allows the audience to understand the reality of the carbon dioxide level and its relationship with temperature as it increases the amount of heat being trapped inside earth’s outer layer. Gore does a great job in emphasizing how literally carbon dioxide is “off the charts” and as a result temperature increases as well. As stated in the film, in the course of 50 years or so if people don’t take action against this issue it will become irreversible. It was not until Al Gore presented this issue to the general public through his documentary by David Guggenheim that sparked the interest of many. According to The Hollywood Report the film won Best Feature Documentary at the 79th academy awards. It was announced “One of the most successful documentaries made in history.” Needless to say, Al Gore does an amazing job in presenting to his audience a topic that tends to be overlooked. He grabs the attention of the youth, which can be difficult, by incorporating the short clip from the show “Futurama”.He presents to us charts and data on his findings like the level of increasing carbon dioxide, which is alarming, and its affect over the next years. Although Al Gore can be misinterpreted as making global warming a political issue as a result of his position in politics, he know how to humble himself in front of his audience and present data research that many scientists at a higher position are unable to without boring the audience. Global warming cannot be taken lightly and watching the award winning film should be a wakeup call to realize the reality of the dangers our planet earth is
