However, America is falling down in academical performance compare to other developed countries. Parents need to be involved more in children education and their life. In the United States of America, parents focus more on their job than on their children. For that reason, parents are not getting enough time to work with their children and be involved in their school activities. According to “Parental Involvement in Schools”, “Students with parents who are involved in their school tend to have fewer behavioral problems and better academic performance”. Another problem in the United States is that people come from different countries. Therefore, their primary language is not English. Not knowing the language of the country where we are living is the biggest struggle. The study shows that the students’ whose parents do not speak English and from low-income families are less involved in school activities such as parents meeting, scheduled meeting with teachers, school or class events, and volunteered or serviced on the community (Parental Involvement in School). You see the articles in magazines, the websites online, and the ads on TV that promote the newest and greatest parenting methods used by mothers and father everywhere. The differences we see in parenting can differ from family to family, but the biggest contrast is between the different ethnicities of the world. How a Western mother raises her child may be completely different than that of a Chinese mother. These differences are the ones that are observed by author Amy Chua, as well as mothers who have read her works of literature.
There are many important things children gain while growing up; the most important thing children gain growing up is their education. The educational skills children learn in school teach them the skills they need to perform outside of the classroom and in the workforce. With education being one of the most important gains in the lives of children, it has come to light how in recent years the United States has fallen further and further behind its peers in international rankings. According to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) 2009 educational scores, the United States ranks “33” (1), which is lower than the 2002 ranking of “18” (CNN). With such a decrease in the United States ranking, parents wonder why American students are falling behind.

If you try to decipher the quote to acquire the meaning you may end up with a different meaning; then someone else because there is a collection of meanings. My understanding of the quote is that he didn 't let his school, school education, get in the way of his overall education. This is the most common explanation because of the meaning of the two focus points of the quote: school and education, education is not only attained from school, and even Grant Allen presented the meaning in his works.
Parental involvement promotes the social growth of a child. Children whose parents are involved in their education have many advantages. They have better grades, test scores, long-term academic achievement, attitudes and behavior than those with disinterested mothers and fathers (Gestwicki, 2001). Parents becoming involved in their child's schooling creates extra sources of social constraint to influence the child's behavior (McNeal, 2001). For example, parents talking to their children and becoming involved in the school conveys a message to the child of education being important. Parents should be talking with your children's teacher and letting her know about your family. The more she knows about your child, the better she will be able to connect with your child.
To conclude, my research shows a clear link between parental involvement and children performing better in school. Children who's parents are involved in their education are showing better performance and are achieving higher grades. They also show better behaviour, more enthusiasm, ambition and higher levels of engagement. compared with children who's parent are not involved in their education. My research also shows that parental involvement has great benefits for both children and parents in many ways, so much so that the most effective schools are those who encouraged parents to be involved.
Involving parents with school activities will benefit the school parent and the child. Teachers will have more help and will know the children closely if the parents are involved. Children feel happy and secure to see their parents around and it makes them confident too. We can start the involvement by inviting parents as volunteers for story reading and school outings. The importance of parental involvement is stressed in Lev Vygotsky's Sociocultural Theory which states parents, caregivers, peers, and the culture at large were responsible for developing higher order functions. On the other hand, parents will also have a sense of inclusion in their child’s development process. Some parents think that once their children are at school, they can relax and let the education system take control. But this is not the case at all.
