Giving Homework In Public Schools

Homework is given everyday in public schools. Parents think that giving homework on weekends is not good for the children for many reasons. Why do parents and kids think giving homework on weekends is not fair? Doing homework on weekends takes up family time, takes up leisure time, and kids learn things outside of school everyday. Homework is only supposed to be done on weekdays.

First of all, giving homework on weekends takes up family time. Weekends are meant for families to be together. Everyone in the family has a day off from work. But you can’t have family time if you have homework on weekends. Your parents want you to get a good grade and if you get homework it forces your parents make you do the homework to get a good grade (Doc. A). A weekend is called a weekend for a reason. It is a time to relax and take your mind of school and homework. But by getting homework kids get stressed out and sometimes start behaving rudely. Khan Academy has lessons for all the different subject and for all the grade levels. It also gives you practice tests or problems to solve.
