School should be four days a week with three day weekends. There is many ways to help out as students and employers throughout the workforce. This may strike some as a childish statement; however some ideas are worth thinking about. Just one extra day on the weekend could totally change are moods and personalities toward school. Then students could get plenty of rest and have more family time because studies show students are at school more than they are with our families.
First things first, I am not promoting less school; I am stating that an extra day on the weekend could be beneficial. Depending on your state, there are a certain number of hours required for each class. There is a way to work out a schedule for a four day school week, like adding on a couple hours or somthing that way you still get the four day week.

Besides holidays, the school year is tough for hanging out, even on the weekends. The average high school student’s Saturday consists of some type of sporting event, weekend homework, and very little if any hang out time. Then comes Sundays where we all watch an nba game or something and procrastinate worrying about homework, that never gets done on time. There might be some free time involved on certain weekends, but it is rare for there to be enough time to really relax and enjoy a day. A free day could consist of a student’s own time to themselves or with friends and quality family time. Students now have the opportunity to work another day to save for their future. The four-day school week also provides much more time for these children to spend and enjoy time with friends, and family, as well as enjoying extracurricular activities. There is a lovely environment for the children at the school and an extra day for the instructors to gain knowledge and a better understanding of their curriculum. The schools will be saving a varying amount of money that could be used in case of an emergency with money of any kind. Whether it is an emergency funding program, or money to fund an extracurricular activity. School days should be shorter fro students because they do not get enough sleep, have to much homework, and have barley have time to participate in extra curricular activities. A majority of students have sleep depravation due to school. If school would either start or end late students will have a greater opportunity to get more sleep. Teachers expect students to pay attention for 90 minutes while the night before they were up late finishing their homework for there classes. Some teachers do not realize that students have a life and work or have other obligations that take up a major portion of the students.
The school systems are constantly changing. New ideas are being tossed back and forth between school boards all over the country. Now they’re tossing around the idea of having 4-day school weeks, rather than a normal 5 day school week. Some think it is a terrific idea, saves funding in the educational department. Others think that parents will have issues with it, having to deal with extra childcare cost, also how will the younger children deal with the longer school days. This issue will effect, not only parents, but teachers, school bus drivers, and students etc.
Now days, normal American students go to school 5 days in a week. However, some places over the United States operate 4 days of school week system. Those school surprisingly observe positive changes. Therefore, American schools should operate 4 days of school week because schools can save their budget costs, and students can have more time to enjoy outdoor activities, pursue additional educational goals and improve academic achievement since students are in less stressful environment.
School can be known as a dreadful reality of everyday life for a countless number of people. Students and teachers all over the country are constantly looking forward to the next day off of school. Often times students find every excuse to miss school, even if it’s just for a couple of hours. Having to go to school five days in a row with only a two day break is a lot to handle for most people. Many schools are converting from a five-day school week to a four-day school week for many different reasons. Colby Public Schools needs to implement a four day school week because it helps lower the stress levels of students and teachers, improves overall attendance, and saves excess amounts of money.
According to some school districts, "teachers and student absences have decreased with the four-day school week. The reason for the decrease in teachers and students' absences is logical because that one extra day will help them finish what they need to in the right amount of time. Another issue that can be prevented with a four day of school is the increasing drop out rate and disciplinary referrals in high school. Having disciplinary referrals can cause a bad impression on teachers and colleges.
School provides a lot of work. There are eight total classes in a semester, and sometimes it can be hard to keep up with everything that school asks of its students. Because of all the work, students tend to ignore the requirements school has. (For example, students will ignore due dates or study suggestions.) However, taking Fridays off (and replacing the days with extra weeks of school) will provide success for the students.

If students start homework right when they get home from school, that gives them free time starting at 7:00 PM. The majority of students also have jobs. So. between school, work, homework, and practice, that leaves them virtually no time to be able to hang out with friends or to participate in family activities.

School should be four days a week with an extra hour added to each school day because it would save money for the school system, increase student motivation, stimulate the economy, and promote student achievement. There has been a decrease in education due to the small amount of resources, causing classrooms to be bigger and children not being able to extend their knowledge. Even though the economy has been falling, each school district has been working hard to promote student education, which could mean trading a traditional school schedule for a four-day school week. The extra day of classes would cut down on work days for students. Saturday classes would also mean one less day of rest for both students and teachers alike. & nbsp; Less time with a family could lower a student's grade point average. For some students Saturday is the only time they can see family. This would be true for students whose parents are divorced or who both work Monday through Friday. Not seeing family could lead to a bad attitude or severe depression. Some students have close relationships with their parents and want or need to spend time with their parents. A student with a bad attitude or severe depression cannot learn well and perform well in class. Not being able to learn well will not bring an already low education level up. & nbsp; The extra day of school would cut down on work days for students. A cut-down on work hours during the weekend could influence a student to work more late-night hours to earn money. for car payments or college funds. That would create a very tired, unprepared student. That student, in turn, will not do well with school work. The extra day of school would take away from any other job a teacher may have. Some teachers have additional jobs to earn extra money. Less time to work another job could create a bad attitude. A teacher with a bad attitude will not be able to teach effectively. & nbsp; One extra day of school cuts into precious relaxation time for students and teachers alike. Just one day may not sound like a lot; but, for a busy student, it could mean the difference between an A and a B. That one extra day of rest can change an attitude easily. With one day of rest and one more day to do homework, a student can have time to avoid a jam-packed schedule for a day.
