Recommended: Role Of Women In Our Society Today

Since the start of time the role of the male and female has changed in the society as the time passed by and major change that has occur is how both a treated and thought about differently. If you look back a couple of decades in 1700s or centuries, women didn’t really had a very important role in society. Woman’s main duty at that time was to make food, take care of kids and family, which has all changed in the last couple of centuries to from this modern society that we live in today. Now you can’t really tell a difference between the role of male or female in modern society. The women in modern society are allowed to work or go outside to do whatever she wants if she wants to go to school get a higher education, she is allowed but she still is expected to take care of her family. The Majority of women still do that, but it has started to change now you use dad staying home to take care of their kids and cook for family in modern society when rarely or never happened in the olden days. Most women traditional role is still there but the difference is that they have a choice now if they want to do it or not. Women now have a choice to stand up for what they believe and have a choice of what they want to do with their lives. Women now are becoming independent and now have shown the ability to create their own identity and choice the path they want. The change has become the change for the best first males just use to strive to become the best, but nowadays women get support for the males and society to achieve whatever they want to achieve. I believe that society has improved of supporting women on what they want to do. Never has a culture been found where women have dominated. In “Society and Sex Roles” by Ernestine Friedl, Friedl supports the previous statement and suggests that “although the degree of masculine authority may vary from one group to the next, males always have more power” (261).
