I don’t like to wear dresses no matter in what kind of situation, but I tried my best to wear a dress for this gender performance activity. There was nothing especially happened that made me uncomfortable, however, I did not feel like being myself as I was dressing in that way. After having this special experience, I gained some kind of empathy toward those who perform their gender by dressing different than their opposite biological sex.
Since I could not think of any clothing I have that can help me to dress more masculine, I chose to dress more feminine than I usually dress. On the day of the gender performance activity, I wore a black dress with a black trench coat. I also wore a necklace and earrings, but they might not be too noticeable because I did not tie up my hair. I think my outfit was more toward the formal dressing for female since it was all black and plain. I did not use the backpack for normal school days because that would not go well with my dress. I did not meet many people in the morning, so I did not notice any difference. My first class of the day was an English class, and after I walked into the classroom, my Chinese friends looked at me surprised.
