Differences About Jesus in Islam and Christianity
First off, by way of clarification, in the Christian faith, Jesus is
considered to be much more than a Prophet. The Christian belief is
that He was and is the Son of God. Moreover, Christ is considered to
be superior to the Old Testament prophets (Hebrews 1:1-14).
Jesus then commissioned His apostles to preach His words and doctrines
(Matt 28:19,20). As such, the writings of the apostles, as found in
the New Testament, are considered to be inspired. However, the offices
of prophet and apostle as givers of special revelation are not
considered to continue indefinitely. The Christian belief is that
special revelation ended with the apostles.
But to get to what I believe is the import of your question, Muhammed
is not considered to be a prophet in the Christian faith. He,
obviously, lived long after the death of the last apostle. So his
teachings would not be considered to be inspired. Moreover, what he
taught conflicts with what Jesus and the apostles taught, which leads
to your next questions.
In Qur'an, it is told that Jesus did not die but was raised up before
Allah. Do you obey this? In Christianity is it believed that Jesus has
died or he were raised up? Do the Christians believe that, "Jesus died
taking over all the sin?"
The apostle Paul summarized the central Christian beliefs (or
"Gospel") with the words, "For I delivered to you first of all that
which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the
Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third
day according to the Scriptures" (1Cor 15:3-4).

Both Muslims and Christians are monotheists, believing in one God. While both believe in the same God, He is called by two completely different names. He is referred to as "Allah" by Muslims and "God" by Christians. Although Islam and Christianity are two different religions, their similarities in beliefs and prayers make them comparable in many aspects.
In today’s world of chaos and war, many people are turning to religion. People look to organized religion not only for solace but on the contrary, they also look to attribute cause for the world’s woes. The terrorist attack on the World Trade Center on September 11th has many people looking to the religion of Islam for a culprit, as the men who flew the planes were Israeli suicide missionaries. These men thought themselves to be on a mission from God (Allah). This implies that they were acting on the words of a prophet, or thought themselves prophets. In response to this, I decided to research the major religions in today’s world that rely on modern day prophets for guidance. By doing so, I am attempting to prove the religion of Islam innocent by comparing it to many other religions that have similar structure but no terrorist intentions.
The main points of Jesus’ teaching were that God loves you and is with you, to love one another, of the immense value of each person. The Good News: The kingdom of God has come to earth. The reality of judgment in heaven or hell and that God forgives those who ask. Mohammed’s life, ministry and death started when the Prophet of Islam was born in the year 570 B.C. Born into an affluent family, he would lose both of his parents by the age of six. Mohammed became a camel driver traveling between Syria and Arabia, later he would become a caravan manager for wealthy merchants, which lead him to meet his wife Khadija, 15 years his senior, and she was his only wife until her death 24 years later.
Islam and Christianity both come from a common foundation as religions of peace, both of these religious traditions share the foundational element of peace of their beliefs. In both the sacred texts of Islam and Christianity peace is a virtue and is seen more as a sense of wellbeing than just the absence of conflict and violence. Overall peace is found in unity with God, for Christians and Muslims are taught to live a life a life of peace with others, not only in their own communities but the entire of human society. The Qur’an in Islam and the New Testament in Christianity are respectively the principal sacred texts for these religious traditions. The Qur’an and the New Testament both express the importance of peace and peacemaking as evident in Jesus’ Beatitudes “Blessed are the peacemakers”. The search for inner peace is the core message of the Qur’an and the New Testament and the adherents of both traditions are taught that inner peace will come through faithfully devoting yourself to God.
But this certainly does not mean that they do not share common beliefs or stories about Jesus (Isa in Arabic). In fact both the books agree totally on the

So, we can see that there is a number of similarities in the understanding of Jesus by Islam and Christianity, however they are also different. Most of the contemporary problems bedeviling our society are because of lack of proper spiritual anchorage. Civil and technological differentiations embodied in the media have aggravated the situation. Technological differentiation has undermined religion by taking the place of spirituality in adherents’ lives.
From the information above it is clear that Christianity and Islam believe in one Supreme God. All believers should focus on following the commandments and rules as stated in the respective holy books. However, Christianity and Islam share great differences hence it is appropriate to conclude that Christianity is different from Islam.
On the surface Muhammad is usually considered to be a prophet and messenger of God, but when looking closer we can see that He played many more roles in His life time including one of a Statesman.
This can be verified and proven true, based on eyewitnesses. After the death of Christ, the lives of the writers of the New Testament were radically changed. They traveled where they had not gone to reach out to people outside their comfort zone. They died in their attempt to spread the message.
Islam and Christianity have a vast amount of similarities and differences. Islam searches for guidance from the Qur’an and Christianity depends on faith in Jesus. Islamic faith believes in the God, Allah. Above anything else, all religious Muslims obey Allah and his commandments to obtain peace. However, Christianity puts faith in Jesus who is the son of God.
With this understanding of what a prophet is we can now take a look at his life.
The Quran reads that God is just one god and that there are no different parts of him. Christians believe that Jesus is the son of god and is part of the trinity. The Islamic people just believe that Jesus was sent has a messenger and like Muhammad, was a prophet of god. As for Christians the seem him as a messenger and also the second member of the trinity and that Jesus was God himself. The trinity is made up of three parts, the father, the son, and the holy spirit. Another big difference when talking about Jesus within the two texts is Jesus death. We see that Muslims do not believe Jesus death happen on a cross, instead believe God lifted him up of him. We can see the in the text of the Quran $156-157, as to what it suggests about what happen. “They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but they thought they did. God lifted him up to His presence. God is Almighty, All-Wise” When looking at the opposite side of the story we see that Christians do believe that Jesus died. I believe Jesus died for our sins. Christianity to me is more of a relationship with God rather than just a religious practice. The bible to me is God last words and teachings in a matter of faith and practice.
