Theodore Roosevelt Theodore Roosevelt was our 26th president, and our youngest in history. A man that could never sit still, always in action to make America great. “He views him as a man who had a strong sense of moral value and consider able intellectual ability” (Grant, pg.637). TR was a northerner from New York and was the creator of the “Bull Moose Party” or the Progressive Republican Party. He had many accomplishments with the “square deal” and creating the Panama Canal. Roosevelt helped the Americans with regulating railroad rates, and resolving the Anthracite Coal Strike in 1902. Roosevelt was a man that did everything he did by “Steadfast Resolution.” Roosevelt says “Perhaps there is no more important component of character than steadfast resolution.” Personal courage is facing fear, danger or adversity. TR showed personal courage when he resolved the conflict in Venezuela with Cipriano Castro 's refusal to pay foreign debts to European countries.
