I feel as if the schools of the future won’t be that much different than the schools today. Today we see schools introducing more technology into the classroom. A few years ago it was SmartBoards which allowed teachers to get students more involved in lessons than over head projectors could. Today we see schools taking the next step with laptops and tablets in the classroom. This, along with the SmartBoard, teachers can get students even more involved. Teachers can put up word problems, and notes on the board and have them sent right to the student’s tablets and laptops. They can act similar to the iClickers that we use today in lecture centers and classrooms here at the University at Albany. Teachers can also upload solutions to problems on the tablets so when a students gets a question wrong, the tablet can show them the correct way to solve it as if the teacher was there to correct the student. They allow the teacher-student bond to grow closer, allowing the teacher to help the student academically even if the teacher isn’t there. I don’t believe we will reach the day where teachers are obsolete and students will just have information taught by computers. In this school, let’s make it a high school, technology has the center stage. All students will be assigned a laptop or a tablet when they enter the school, and they will have that laptop/tablet for the next four years, minus summer break. These laptops will be wirelessly linked to the teacher’s SmartBoard where the lesson will be taught. Students will take notes on these laptops, they will do their assignments on them, and they will take tests on them. The laptops will also run a software where the school knows what the students are doing so cheating students can be caught, or if they use their laptops in an unscholarly way, like watching videos or going online in
