Chemistry is the branch of science that deals with the identification of the substances of which matter is composed; the investigation of their properties and the ways in which they interact, combine, and change, and the use of these processes to form new substances. Chemistry crosses over into the medical filled in several different ways. Why is chemistry related to medicine? Chemistry is related to medicine because to understand medicine you have to understand how it works and how the different chemicals react when there combined. Composition, structure, and properties of matter are all important factors in correctly creating medicine. Chemical composition is talking about the individual chemicals that make up a substance. Chemical structure theory states that the chemical compounds are not a random cluster of atoms and functional groups but structures with definite order formed. Chemical properties are properties used to characterize materials in reactions that change their identity.
“Medical Chemistry is the application of chemical research techniques to the synthesis of pharmacuticial. During the early stages of medicinal chemistry development, scientist were primarily concerned with the isolation of medical agents found in plants. Today, scientists in the field are also equally concerned with the creation or new synthetic drug compounds. Medical chemistry is almost always geared toward drug discovery and development (
