Bob 's Supermarket is a family-owned independent supermarket located in Hanover, Indiana. The company retails "groceries, fresh foods, and ready-to-eat food that is the highest quality and convenient at a fair price." Bob 's Supermarket 's focus is being a good, family-oriented neighbor, and valued member of the surrounding counties (Parnell, 2014).

SWOT Analysis

Bob 's Supermarket 's strengths are its employees, meat department, ready-to-eat products, and locally produced items. The supermarket 's employees are a big part of the appeal supermarket for the customers. Due to its limited resources, the employees are not engaged nor identified as employees. This limitation communicates to the public that Bob 's Supermarket does not care about being known and its employees are not identifiable because the business does not value them enough to do so. Bob 's Supermarket do not have an online delivery or marketing services. Due to this limitation, Bob 's competitors have the opportunity to deploy an aggressive marketing strategy to appeal to the farmers to bring their locally-made products to them for more exposure. This strategic move would take the limited appeal that Bob 's Supermarket has. In essence, without the local support, Bob 's Supermarket would possibly close its doors (Parnell, 2014).

By implementing Bob 's value chain and SWOT matrix the supermarket can become an attractive specialty supermarket. By matching its locally-made items and organic produce with a repaired building, attractively displaying the product in an attractive display case and inviting parking lot, Bob 's Supermarket could become the place where not just the local community come to shop, but the Madison-Hilltop community as well (Parnell,
