Referring to the University of the New England views of social inclusion and my personal perspective, I personally believe Social Inclusion is having equality for all people no matter of their cultural differences and having equal access to resources to help them to succeed. We cannot have social justice in society if we do not consider cultural diversity and what each individual may need to be successful in the world. Social inclusion is interconnected with social justice, culture diversity, human dignity. Each culture had faced their share of hardships and experiences that shaped their personal values, morals and view of the world. On, April 2014 Flint, Michigan city manager made a decision that he thought would have been best for the city to save money. The city manager that was appointed by Republican Governor Rick Snyder switch to Flint river from Detroit water system; Instead it resulted in plenty individuals breaking out in rashes, deaths, behavioral issues and the people of flint having to rely on aid water from celebrities, national guard and aid water because of the contaminated water. Even though this crisis started way back in April of 2014 the crisis had lack of media coverage, recently late 2015 more individuals are now trying to support the crisis. As the story unfolds the thoughts that came to my mind were why did it take it a year for them to try to switch back to the Detroit water system. Why is money a big issue when many peoples ' lives are at stake? In both incidents were I had witness social inclusion being absent I believe recommendations such as those I listed below will assist with similar issues in the future. Recommendations are having individuals that not only qualified, but also have believed in social justice for all people. Another recommendation is maybe the police system needs to evaluate their police academy trainings. What can the police officers do different to not only protect themselves but others.
