SEM CON SEM can hit limits rather quickly if a website owner or organization is not adequately prepared financially. SEM’s main con is the cost per keyword(s) used in campaigns, but can vary greatly depending on which keywords are used. Unfortunately most of the desired keywords can prove to be very costly, often times so high that SEM itself is not considered as a marketing strategy. Often times a campaign set up by and inexperienced user may result in high monitary losses due to them paying high prices per lead while receiving almost zero conversion. High SEM campaign costs are due to high Keyword prices, which naturally allow larger companies with higher financial backing to take over many marketing networks, leaving smaller companies with very little potential to succeed using SEM.
