According to Kofoed (2011), ”Reflection is the mindful (and prayerful) consideration of professional or personal actions in such as way as to transfrom present and future experience” (p. 132). While being a mindful act, I believe reflection is something that most of us do. At the end of the day I normally talk to my husband and tell him about how my day went. I tell him where I could have done better and what I did well. I tell him about conversations, where I felt like I put my foot in my mouth. The other day I told someone that my nephew was getting married in July, even though I knew the person I was talking to was suppose to get married in July. However, I feel that my relationship with God can be better. I know it is important to spend time in the Word but time does not seem to be on my side. So time keeps me from have a strong relationship with God. Not reading the Word regularly keeps me from being a true Christ follower and stunts my growth as a Christian. I feel sad about not reading the bible more and spending time with God. Schoonover-Shoffner (2011) article, ”Reflections on Reflective Practice” reminds us that Jesus was busy and he still had a relationship with God (p. 123). I probably feel sad because if Jesus was busy and could have a realationship with God, than I should as well. God gave his son to the world to save us (John 3:16), so we should at least read his Word and have a strong relationship with him. Also, Peter commands his readers, "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." (1 Peter 3:15, NIV). My perspective on this subject has the potential to influence those around me because knowing God helps me to help others. The more I know about the Bible the more I can help others understand who God is and what he has done for them. In response to this reflection, I feel I should wake up early and spend time with God by praying and reading the Bible. I do believe Christianity is rational! I believe this because this world is
