I choose this project because I thought this would be a fun activity to do with people in the class incorporating group activity, brainstorming and other ideas of other students perspectives and ideas have come into. Also to carry out what I have learned through the year plus to get more experience of caring out performances and learning how to: - set out a lighting script

- stage directions

- brainstorming

- working with other people - learn more about costumes and bringing out the character in the costume

- learning how effective vocals and music are to a performance

My group including Alisha, Claire, Jessica and myself have decided to perform a re-told story of Macbeth in a fairy-tale context. The context we choose was 'Shrek'.

We changed around the characters to best suit characters from 'Shrek'.

Three witches being The three little piggies

Macbeth being Shrek

Lady macbeth being Fiona

Banquo being Donkey

King Duncan being Lord Farquaad

Macduff being the mirror

and Malcome being Charming

We have kept some of the original text from Macbeth and some of the original text from Shrek and most of our ideas came from Shrek with the story line from Macbeth.

The rest of the text we improvised and incorporated in to our performance.

We are beginning with an introduction of all characters.

Our first scene begins with three piggies as the witches with the original text of Macbeth but changed to suit Shrek. Our second scene is also the text of the original Macbeth and once again changed to suit our play. The characters in this scene are as follows:-Three piggies and Shrek.

With added text for scene.

Our third scene is the murder of Lord Farquaad (King Duncan.)Farquaad is checking him self out in t...

...e cheated a script from all Shrek, Macbeth and improvisation (brain storming.) We then ran through the performance seeing if there were any glitches, mistakes or things that just don't make sense, timed the performance. We then decided that we should have music from the original film Shrek and put that into our play to add tension, (in a way.) We also figured out what costumes we were going to wear, since most of as were playing more then one character we needed easy costume changes, simple but effective!

I then figured out when, what and where our lights were going to be on, off and what colour. Also sounding and V.O cues.

In this area of theatre i have learned more about brainstorming, character position, the effectiveness of music, the effectiveness of light and at what darkness and more about character goals and character formation both physical and vocal.
