When you’re riding downtown, you often see people who look homeless and look like they need help. It makes you feel bad for them and want to stop and help them out in any way possible. Sometimes these people are not as helpless as you think. Yes, most people that look like this are usually in need of help, but there are those people who are acting. In the book, Helpless Little Things, Danny finds out the hard way of good acting and, I believe, karma. Jess Walter used logos to appeal to the readers because of the way people want to help out helpless people. So people may not be as helpless as you think and you might be the helpless one and not even realize it. Danny looked like he had everything figured out. He was running a successful drug business and his Greenpeace scam was bringing in good money too. When everything is going good for him, he then gets played by Julie and has his car stolen by her with all the drug money he had in the trunk. This whole time, Danny was helpless as he did not realize Julie was playing him a fool. He could not do anything about it because of his feelings and sorrow toward her. So this just shows you that the sometimes people who make you feel like you are helping them out are just really using you and making you helpless. So in this story, it educates readers to not let someone play you for a fool in thinking they are helpless. You never know when someone is using you for your actions. Yes, there are really people who are helpless and need people’s help. Always check and see to be on the safe side if this person is telling the truth because for all you know, this person could be on the richest people in the country and are just acting like they are
