The book I chose for this project goes by the name “Way To Go” by Tom Ryan. The main character of this book is Darry from Deep Cove. Deep Cove is a small neighborhood in (Cape Breton) Nova Scotia, Canada where the entire story takes place. The abandoned tracks in the picture represent the Spot where Danny, Kierce, and Jay hang out. He lives with his sister Alma and his mother Mary. Danny’s father is always on business trips and is gone for a couple of weeks very often so he hardly spends time at home. When he was caught drinking by a cop, he was forced to get a summer job. Luckily, an old friend of his mom had just recently returned to Deep Cove to open a restaurant. Learning he cannot wash a dish to save his life, Denise moves him up to sous chef to work along with Jean Pierre. They became so close that he passed over …show more content…
They called him a “fag” behind his back in the locker-room. Kierce is clueless and told them he isn’t because that would be disgraceful and he would informed him by now even if he was. That only made Danny feel worse than being taunted by them. The only reason they said that was because he was a virgin who turned down every girl in sight including his ex-girlfriend. Danny’s best friends Jay and Kierce think of him as an ongoing guy who they can trust their lives with since day one. Lisa feels the same and is fond of every moment spent with him. Their hour car rides after work is the best time of the day for her. His father sees Danny as his soon to be greatest achievement who will thrive in life with his guidance, even if he become a chef. Alma, his younger sister, knows he is a good person who will always have her back. She can tell him anything she is thinking or feeling without hesitation. Last but not least, Danny’s mother who has supported him for as long as anyone could remember. Dan is her savior who cooks and takes care of the family for because she cannot manage all of that by

In order to save money he dumps his waste from the holding tanks into the ocean at night when nobody is looking. Noah’s dad a person who stands up for the environment sinks his boat and is put in jail. Noah and his sister decide to try and find a way to stop him.
Danny thought that if he told his father he would of start to see Danny less of a man because his father thought this was only a female problem.
“Congratulations! Today is your day. You're off to Great Places! You’re off and away!” This is how Dr. Seuss captures readers attention in the first paragraph of his book. “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” He is able to capture the attention of all different age ranges, which he is able to do throughout his whole book. There are numerous amounts of lessons and meanings in this book, some are plain as day and some are a little bit more hidden. Dr. Seuss writes this book to get many lessons across to his readers, using biographical criticism you can evaluate just how he appeals to his readers and makes a positive impact on their lives.

Over the past month or two we have been reading many articles and even the book “ Along Way Gone” by Ishmael Beah. These articles and this book have taken us into some child soldiers stories and what it was like having to participate in the war. These children were forced to take part in these crimes, they were brutally tortured, and many were shot because they didn’t obey their commanders. In my opinion I believe that child soldiers should be granted amnesty.
Danny is a half white, half Mexican teenaged male with another separated family. Danny’s dad left him and his family when he was rather young. Danny later found out that his dad was in prison. His mom is living in San Francisco with his sister and another man. This guy is rather wealthy and has a big house, and he spoils Danny’s mom. Danny hates the idea that his mom is with another guy in the first place let alone a regular white guy.

Self-Reg is a ground-breaking book that presents an entirely new understanding of children emotions and behavior that serves as a practical guide for parents to help their children engage calmly and successfully in learning and life. The main theme of the book is to grasp a better understanding on one’s own self-regulation and the ability to use the elements towards success in the process of learning. Entrenched in decades of clinical practice and research by leading child psychologist Dr. Stuart Shanker. Self-Regulation manipulates the power of the parent-child relationship for positive change in their life. In addition, self-regulation is the nervous system's way of responding to stress. A generation of children and teens are being shown with excessively high levels of stress and, as a result, an explosion of emotional, social, learning, behavior, and physical health problems. However, few parents recognize the “hidden stressors” that their children and teens are struggling with such as, physiological as well as social and emotional. Therefore, The main problem Shanker is addressing is to develop a new lens into looking at self-regulation not as skill that needs to be tamed but, to understand our responses to threat or stress, to develop different self-regulation skills, and to help children understand their emotions and self-regulate in order to response differently and positively in their life A rooted view of child rearing is recognizing our children as lacking self-control or will-power, but the
