“Our role as a teacher in secular schools is not to be Daniel in the lion’s den with hungry beasts, not a catcher in the rye, but a resident who settles in and works toward the well-being of the place, because this is God’s will.” As a Christian, I don’t need to give up my life or sacrifice everything. I believe that Christian should settles in the world. We cannot be isolated from this world. I grew up in a Christian community and I do not have much experience outside of Christian bubble. I know that I cannot stay in this warm community forever. It is time to move on and go out to face the real world. God has a great plan for me; he wants me to reach out to the people who do not know Christ. My role is to follow God’s will and pray to Him …show more content…
It is possible when God intervene and heal the world. “Flourishing is about shalom, about living in harmony with God, neighbor, creation and self. The primary focus is God” In order to love others, I need to realize how much God loves me. Love grows when I share but it would disappear if I keep it to myself.
When I was in high school, there was one teacher that taught me so many life lessons. Even though he was not a Christian, he is still remembered as a great teacher in my heart. He taught science and math also he was our soccer coach. He encouraged students and care for students. He was approachable

I witnessed and saw those needs since I was a little kid. My parents are missionaries in Cambodia and their first priority is to spread the Gospel. As I was growing up, I did tons of community services. I started to realize that there are not enough people to teach. Even though there was a nice school building, there were no teachers. So many people wanted to learn English and yet no one is there to teach them. This summer, I took TESOL courses in Thailand. I met lots of missionaries who are studying so hard to get TESOL certificate so that they can teach English to local people. As I was listening to their testimony, my heart for education became stronger. I do not have clear image of where I will go and what I will do, but I want to serve other people and go to the places where they need teachers. Another reason why I want to become a teacher is because I had to move to Thailand for high school. I was separated from my parents for a better education. There are so many places where there is no school and teachers. Man and woman are created in the image of God. People are beautiful however because of the sin, people lose their purity. People became evil and selfish. Still, God did not give up so He sent his only son for us to die on the cross for our sin. God loves people so much that He was willing to sacrifice everything He has only for us. That is what I believe. There is nothing more important than this knowledge. True
Schultz also stressed the importance of a biblical worldview in the teacher. As the leader in each classroom the students will adapt their teacher’s beliefs, values and finally actions. If they are taught by a teacher who holds a dualistic view of dividing the sacred and the secular, or a postmodern or modern worldview, it will adversely affect the ability of that child to develop Christ centered wisdom based upon the Word of God. Schultz, in referring to the education of children, stated “anything that hinders their moral and spiritual development is the epitome of child abuse.” (2006, p. 163). As such, our curriculum, teaching methods, and moral example, must all reflect a biblical worldview that will evangelize and discipline each student to know and love Jesus Christ.
I spent every spring and summer in middle school doing mission work and community service. I loved the opportunity that it gave me to build relationships and share my beliefs with people I didn’t know. Little did I know that this would pave the way for a life-changing experience that I would encounter one day. Each spring my church would host a missionary event called “The Ignite Project.” I felt an urge to join the group, recognizing that it was a calling to profess my faith in Jesus. These mission trips helped me to go out
According to a recent article, “1.5 billion people are without the full Bible in their first language” (“What’s been done”). This statistic shows that there are many people in the world who do not have a way to learn about Christ . We need people who are willing to go and spread the word to people who do not have these Bible translations. To spread the word of God, Christians need to understand how many people already know about God, how to spread the word in places like the 10/40 Window, and how to get missionaries into remote areas so people can who do not already know about Jesus can learn more about Him and become followers of Christ.
Christianity has its challenges. It places demands on us that set us apart from the rest of our world. The bible calls us a peculiar people, who navigate the challenge of living IN the world, without being OF the world. When we say ‘no’ to temptations that are enjoyed by the masses, we are labeled as self-righteous snobs, religious weirdoes, or worse. But we persevere, and we press toward that invisible line the Apostle Paul drew in the sands of time…for the high calling in Christ Jesus.
Christian education is for this project. Christian education is the training of special agents of the kingdom of God and the consummation of creation.” (pg.139) I found it fascinating that Plantinga describes ‘us’ within the Christian education system are called or elected to help God regain and restore His earth here with Christ. We have to remember, “no matter what our primary occupation we cannot let it become a preoccupation.” Plantinga helped me to reflect on my current life, my current job, and my current Christian education. I found that when we let these other aspects of our lives, whether it be bills, work or exams, we often allow reality to fade into the background. Or perhaps we could look at it this way: Our lives get so busy and hectic that we tend to put God on the back burner. Christian education whether in a university or biblical studies at home will give us guidance through our hectic lives, renewing our minds and keep us in close connection with our Creator and the rest of His Creation. Plantinga sums up Christian education as “for the kingdom of God. It equips us to be agents of the kingdom, models of the kingdom in our own lives and communities, witnesses to the kingdom wherever we go in the world.” (pg.143) When we ‘put on the full armor of God’ we not only protect ourselves from this fallen world but we are also able to project God’s glory to all those who we encounter.
As a second language learner I have never expected myself to be a perfect writer throughout the semester. Even If English was my first language still, I would not be a perfect writer. It is not about first or second language, it is about how well I understand the learning objectives. Then organizing and writing with my own ideas and putting them in my paper. I am going to be honest, I am not good at English subject and English subject is my strongest weakness than the other subjects. In this paper I will discuss and analyze my own writing, reflecting on the ways that my writing has improved throughout the semester.
The goal of every teacher no matter their background should always be to teach all students to the best of their ability. Just as Ackerman (2012) states, teachers must believe that ALL students deserve a chance at success regardless of their backgrounds, learning styles, and/or disabilities. Teachers are to teach and exemplify an abundance of knowledge, love, core values, and life skills to their students in such a way that they will not only be able to apply their knowledge and skills in the classroom, but also in their daily endeavors. Even though all teacher’s ultimate goal is usually the same, the teacher’s approach, whether biblical or secular, will have many differences.
Christian worldview for learning is Matthew 20:19-20 says “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have command you: and, lo, I am with you always unto the end of the world”www.biblegateway.com. As Christians we are to teach, witness, and make disciples of men, women, boys, and girls. When we teach them to become disciples, they will make more disciple, telling and teaching them about God, and learning to believe and please Him.
She was the most caring and dedicated teacher I ever had and she respected every student as an individual. On the other hand, she had a very negative influence on my life. She is the person who told me there was no Santa Clause, which ruined Christmas for me for a very long time. Another person who has had a great influence on my life is Mr. Robinson. He was my first band teacher. He is the person who convinced me to join band, which
...t I want people to be changed by the ways that I have shared my spiritual gifts and Christ's love. I may not speak in tongues or be a teacher, but I can teach through my actions and words and exercise my gifts by showing genuine concern for people. In my short-lived career, I have recognized the truth in an important concept taught in Acts. That is, those who aren't supported by God fail. Judas was an example of his failure to God due to going against God's law. Acts serves to show that many people fall into temptations. I have learned that many people currently lose their jobs or families as a result--all because of one mistake. As a Christian, I want to stress the importance, in not falling into temptations, to other people. In my career and every other area of life, I want to continue pursuing Christ through the trials and tribulations, as well as the good times.
...couraging and assisting as needed in locating Christ-centered educators, organizations and activities so they are surrounded by a Christian worldview. Helping instill into my children and grandchildren a God-centered worldview through living as an example of one, who loves, worships, obeys and has a personal relationship with God.
In my life, my favorite teachers were always the ones who taught lessons inside and outside the classroom. They taught us about our past, our language and the world around us for tests and quizzes while also teaching us how to navigate through life with their lessons that weren’t needed for our grades. For me, I wanted to be that kind of person. I knew I wanted to help others when they needed help, and I knew I wanted to do that as a teacher.
“Our work for Christ is to begin with the family, in the home ... There is no missionary field more important than this.”
In our society today, education has become more of a privilege than a right. Not all people are fortunate enough to have been blessed with good education. Thus, those people have the responsibility to impart that knowledge to his neighbors, especially to the less fortunate one. What empowers us to educate others? It all goes back to love. God's love enables us to love our neighbors. Educating others is brought about by our love for our neighbor. Passing on education is similar to passing on something that is part of you. It takes more than knowledge in order to educate others. Educating others requires patience and compassion, two things that are rooted from love. Thus, I strongly believe that without love, from God and from neighbors, education would not be possible.
“Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things.” (Matthew 25:21 NIV) God has opened a new door for this individual to impact another community with the heart of a servant leader; willing to do all that is asked of him. God will use a willing heart and if you are willing to allow God to direct your paths, He will be glorified through the work He will accomplish through you. The task may seem daunting, the circumstances too monumental, but the Bible is a reminder; “For nothing will be impossible with God.” (Luke 1:37 ESV)
