Significant Event In My Life Essay

Everyone has had an event in their life that helped changed them in some way or stood out to them in some type of way. Rather if it is, something like a birth of a child, a death of a family member or even receiving a job. A significant event in my life that helped me grow as a person was when I decided to pack up and move to Houston, Texas. My move to Texas may have been short, but in that short period, it helped me to grow to be more independent and to provide for myself. It showed that I am fearless and can adapt to things that I never would have imagined I could handle. When I made the move to Texas, I moved with family members that I knew, but I was not close with it. Before moving to Texas, I was somewhat independent. I bought my clothes,

I felt as though I needed to do what I had to do to provide myself with everything I needed, including those things that I was not used to having to provide. I felt as though my parents did not force me to move so I should not have had to call on them to help and send money to me while I was there. It was my decision to go and it was decision to do the things that I did while I was there. Nor did I want to be that family member that was living off other family and depending on them to supply me with the things that I needed knowing I was well and capable of getting it all on my own. It was time for me to act like adult and fast. I had to become self- reliant and do a lot more for myself than what I was used to

Not everyone feels the need to clean as often as I do. Not everyone enjoys his or her place clean and smelling like lavender candles or air fresheners. Some don’t enjoy or it doesn’t bother them to walk into a home that is not clean and dirt free. It also taught me to adapt to my world around me. I am not the person that can handle roommates. Everyone’s definition of clean is not the same, as mine and I could not handle it. Everyone doesn’t like to cook and clean their dishes as they go like I do.
