Colorguard Reflection

The end of my sister 's junior year, our mother strived to push her into performing Colorguard. My sister did not want to do it by herself, and I was in eighth grade at the time about to graduate. As soon as I graduated my mother said, "You are going to do Colorguard with your sister.” Oh, boy, did I cry, I cried the day she took me to audition until the day it was over. Her reason she says, “You and your sister need to be more productive instead of sitting on your butts every day.” She used to be a Colorguard Patriot herself, and I think that is her real intentions for pushing us into Colorguard. During my four years of doing Colorguard, I had two different band directors, as well as two different Colorguard instructors. Even though I really …show more content…

When I went back next year it was a little better, but the captains were still there. Even though I highly disliked the captains, I applaud our coach Mrs. M. She was the funny type, who would make corny jokes to brighten everyone 's day. When Mrs. M taught us she went through every step slowly until we understood how to do the move. At this time I was shy and quiet, but she knew when I was confused by the look I always did, and she would go over to help me until I have gotten it right. Mrs. M pronounced she would also be leaving because she did not want to teach with anyone else but Mr. Mucio. So, they introduced us to the …show more content…

Mr. Cotreal ordered us to do a workout routine before we started the day. His reasoning behind it was too,"Get in shape so you guys would not be breathless on the field," he says. Right away I did not like him because I knew he was going to make this year a crappy one. Ms. Jamie also made us do a warm-up before his exercise, which wasted half of the forty-five-minute class. When Mrs. M was here, we hired a professional to create our Colorguard routine, but Ms. Jamie did not do that. She created the routine that we would soon learn, The routine was late and full of basic flag work. I also knew she was going to make this year crappy just like Mr. Cotreal. Among the lacking communication, the Cologuard also lacked knowledge of the routine, thanks to Mrs. Jamie 's delay. Instead of Ms. Jamie teaching us the routine, she made us do basic warm-ups with the flags. The way she taught us were a bad difference from the way Mrs. M did. There was a major difference in the two years of having new teachers. One of the biggest difference we had, was the decreasing trophies we received from the amount of trophies we use to
