Online shopping is strongly beneficial for both consumers and businesses, as it allows ease of service, customization for customers, and can increase sales and reputation of businesses. Giving the consumer the ability to shop in the comfort of their own home, without spending a large amount of time, as they may experience at a Retail location, gives them the sense of freedom while purchasing. This can improve a Company’s reputation, and allow for targeting a larger mass market by appealing to customers.

Five of the social shopping services that started the online buying craze, were Polyvore, Farfetch, Fancy and Wanelo. According to the Fast Company (2015), Polyvore, founded in 2007, has 20 million users, and allows them to create collages of products they want, allowing them to purchase. Farfetch, founded in 2008, has 450,000 users and is known for having goods from 300+ boutiques from all over the world, and are not widely sold online. Fancy, founded in 2009, has 10 million users and offers users the ability to choose the style they are interested in, and gives same-day delivery in more than 100 cities. The most recent Social shopping service, is Wanelo. Wanelo was founded in 2011, and has 11 million users. They have real time pricing, allowing the customer peace of mind in the price they are quoted, and inventory information. They have also partnered with Shopify to allow shopping from many major merchants. (Carr,A. 2015, p. 25-28)

Recognizes that these problems are naturally expected to occur due to the fact that this business is generally new to the market, and will not be launched without flaws. It is obvious that there will be cons about online shopping, on the other hand, it is certain that through time, these barriers will be improved, due to online shopping taking over the market, and the market is constantly gaining experience on enhancing the experience of its customers, by constantly troubleshooting barriers, and working on creating a better future for this market and business. With graphs displaying the amount of people turning to online shopping, it is without a doubt going to dominate the market, and hopefully attracting those who are naturally compelled to shop at a retail to a business on the growth, Just at the tip of out fingertips.
