Observation Reflection

Even though I only spent two short weeks with Ms. Brown’s third grade class, I have learned so many wonderful things throughout the experience that I will cherish for a lifetime. This is the third time I have been in an elementary classroom observing and every time I have learned something new about myself and my future. When I first started this experience I was a bit worried at the fact that I would be observing a third grade classroom. It had been my overall goal was to teach 2nd grade or lower. However, after just 10 short days I have had to rethink my grade plan. I had always felt that I wouldn’t be a good teacher to a higher elementary grade teacher but the experiences I have had through this experience made me realize that I can really teach in any grade and I should ignore any possibilities that I may encounter. …show more content…

What was most valuable was that Ms. Brown told me not to grade everything that is turned in. She said that if you grade everything you’ll never stop grading. Also, you should always have something ready for students in case the finish early.
Objective C required me to observe the professional relationships throughout the school. What was most valuable was the family-like relationship between the teachers. It seemed that they tried to support each other. I hope that when start teaching that I will find a school that has a relationship like that.
Objective D required me to observe and note classroom management procedures throughout the day. What was most valuable was to have policies in the class, give good directions, and make sure to give good directions and to model. I also noticed that her lesson plans were not very detailed which all the lesson plans that I have made had to be extremely detailed. I have found that Ms. Browns classroom control ideas to keep the students learning were great I will plan on using them for myself as
