The Birthday Wish - Original Writing

Its Chloe's thirteenth birthday - she's in her bedroom sitting on the

bed dressed and ready for her guests to arrive. Her thoughts show her

excitement for the day's event.

(Room is decorated with banners and lit by spot light)

I cant believe it, its my birthday today - I'm a teenager I've waited

for this day all my life, funny really I thought I'd feel so different

but I don't. Mum's down stairs getting it all ready- buffet is done

(small laugh) a very posh word for a spread my Nan says. That was

dad's job; mum wrote the list, he nipped to Asda got what was on the

list and more, good old dad. I think I've got about 10 coming plus all

the relations - don't really get to see them only when there's a do. I

can't wait! All my mates from school are coming plus the new girl, mum

said I had to invite her coz she got no friends, Jane her name she's

very quiet. Opened loads and loads of presents already CD from my

little brother Craig, earrings from Mum and Dad- loads of clothes and

£20 pounds from Nan, plus what I get this afternoon (I'll nearly ready

mum)

Oh almost forgot aunty Fay is bringing the cake- lets hope its not a

Barbie Cake how embarrassing that would be. No alcohol as if! We're

only 13.

Spent ages getting ready this morning, mum let me use her hair

straightens she done it for me coz I don't know what I'm doing she

said I look like a pop star, and with this top on what mum choose for

me I could be mistaken for Kyile Mogmow (pause) I hope it goes really

well

There's the door bell lets party (snap to b/o)

Chloe is back sitting on the bed in her bedroom time has pasted and

she reflects on the afternoon events.
