In order to learn more about leadership, motivation, team building, and coaching I interviewed a Connie Dorn, manager of two different departments within the revenue cycle of four local hospitals. She has been in this position for over five years and enjoys the challenges and satisfaction it brings by building a successful team. She displays a transformational leadership style, as displayed by her ability to motivate staff to reach their full potential and recognizing them for their strengths, knowledge, and skill sets. Connie is very experienced in coaching and wishes she was able to commit more time to coaching her employees. She takes time to develop trust and rapport with her employees which assists her in coaching and motivating her employees. Having a large number of employees under her leadership has taught her how to respect their differences and allows those differences to guide her leadership style to properly guide and motivate them. Connie also discussed group participation and group motivation. The article will focus on leading a group of employees so that they are committed and motivated to help the hospitals fulfill their mission.

... the person. Some of the methods that she uses include: supporting them, believing in them, recognizing their achievements, pay for performance, and small benefits like flexible schedules. She said that every employee needs and wants different forms of recognition and it is important that she understands her employees to give them what will help motivate them best on an individual level. For instance, recognition can be done publicly or privately. Some employees, including herself, tend to be more introverted and being recognized at a staff meeting or companywide email would be embarrassing and have a negative impact. Whereas a private email or conversation would be very motivating and moving. Other employees like the recognition and need to have that respected as well. She thinks that one of her best motivators is simply supporting her staff. She always has
