Is it The Ending of True Conversation? Even though cell phones have helped us communicate over the globe, the amount of time using a cell phone is getting out of hand. People spend countless hours using their phones to chat between one another or playing games on their phone just to pass the time. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could manage going without our phones and actually talking to someone but we text instead of actually talking to someone or tweet something that is going on in our everyday life’s. We use technology to communicate even when we are in the same rooms sometimes or even in the same building because it “easier”. Have people ever thought of how texting is not the same as actually talking to someone. People send an emotionless message even when they using terms such as, lol, haha, TWFF, and many other meaningless words to create a false feeling of bounding between people. Have people ever caught themselves using one of these words but not feeling the meaning of it. In my personal experience of texting, I have used those words many time to get out of an awkward conversation. It seems to lighten the mood even though people can’t see or understand how the other person is feeling about what they just received. As Summer once said, “It is hard to imagine that this new focus on self and lack of direct face-to- face interaction can mean something positive about how we live, love and, deal with each other.” (page 1) Cell phones have bought many advantages to the world that we could consider needing in our lives but is it worth all the disadvantages that come with it. Couldn’t we just take the easy steps and talk to someone in person. It understandable to use messaging if they are in a rush but actually talking to someone may prove to be beneficial for who is in the conversation. It
